Default Questions about becoming a SU Demonstrator

Hello Everyone,

I have a few questions about becoming a demonstrator...

I am have been thinking it over...alot! I really want to do it, but I am nervous. Is it worth it? Is it hard? I am not a "business person" I want to do it just for fun. Any help, tips, anxiety easers? :?

The first thing I would ask myself, If I didn't think I could sell anything to anyone, could I afford to purchase $300 worth of stamps each quarter? That is the bare minimum you have to do. Now, with the discount, it doesn't cost you exactly 300 per quarter but that's just gravy.

HTH,

Mo

the fun thing about being a demo, is that if you can meet the minimums yourself ($300 every 3 months), you don't ever have to hold a workshop!
Ofcourse, once you get going you'll find that workshops are just another way of saying : time set aside to stamp and have fun!!
If you have specific questions or concerns, feel free to PM me.
Hope that helps!!

It's not that I couldn't be able to sell to anyone, it's the fact that I am such a nice person that I would give everyone my discount. Is that wrong????

It's not difficult. You can do very few workshops and events or lots and lots, whatever suits your style. If you're worried about not finding hostesses, see if a few friends or family will agree to host a workshop with you before you even sign up as a demo. You'll feel reassured by your waiting list of hostesses and that will get you off to a great start!

Choose your upline carefully too... if you don't know the demo well, take a look around in your area at other demonstrators and see if you can attend a meeting with their downline or just get to know them. Tell them what you are doing, and choose somebody who understands your goals for your demonstratorship and will support you in them.

One last thought... there's a great deal if you sign up during the Sell-A-Bration period where you get an extra free stamp set of your choice just for signing up! I'd start talking to demos to find your potential upline now and sign up after January 1 so you can get an extra free stamp set!

Good luck - I'm a hobby demo myself and I sure hope you'll love it like I do!

:-) Kristen

lol.
That's a problem you learn to get over pretty quickly.
When I first became a demo I told myself that I was doing it to support my own habit, so if I didn't make money, I didn't buy... that really encouraged me to stop giving others my discounts, because it meant that I couldn't have any new pretty stamps...

I do, however, offer free shipping on first time orders to all my customers, so it cuts into my % alittle bit, but not too bad.

People really don't expect a discount. So, it's not really an issue. I find that I have the opportunity to be 'nice' by sharing this great hobby with others. I am nice when I lend them an ink pad or some ribbon.

Also, you can always stop being a demo -- there is no obligation. So, there is nothing to lose and LOTS of fun to be gained!!

I am getting so many ideas and hopefully I will get more when I decide to become a demo.

Thanks again!
