Default Quick Craft Fair Question

I am getting ready for my first craft fair and was wondering if any of you stampers out there had any suggestions on how many DIFFERENT cards to make for the fair....

Thanks in ADVANCE!

Default craft fair

How big is the craft fair? I would say that I had about 20-25 different cards. I think the more different the better. There was only one card that several people bought from me at the last craft fair that I did...

Everyone has such different tastes and opinions so I would try to make a variety of cards. I made 20 each of about 15 cards. Then I had some cards that I only had a couple of each made. I think I made too many of the same and wish I had more of a variety.

Hope that helps

I'm wondering the same thing- I've got a craft fair in 2 weeks, and I know I'll be doing packs of 8 cards with envelopes, but I'm trying to decide what's better:
8 cards with all the same design and greeting: Thank You
or
8 cards split as 4 birthday and 4 thank you's.
I'm also going to do only 2 different assorted packs. These will be 4 different Christmas cards, 2 each of the 4 designs.
And I'll do a similar birthday assortment: 2 each of 4 designs: masculine, feminine, kids and general wish. I plan on making one of those ribbon boards with a canvas board and displaying the 4 assorted cards- this way I can say: "These are the 4 different cards you get in this assortment..." so people aren't pawing over the cards and opening packages.

I thought a lot of variety would be good- but then I read on another thread that someone saw a persons table at a craft fair with too many different varieties and it was overwhelming- the thought was: did I see everything- did I miss anything?

I guess you never know which way the customer will think-

just be sure to be precise in your price advertising if you are also going to sell individual cards. I just did a craft fair and had some sets of 6 for $11 and some individual cards that ranged from 1.75 to 2.25 a piece, and people were looking at the ones on the board (that had the price posted right above them) and saying "so I can pick 6 for $11?" I didn't want to individually price everything, so I tried to do general, this board is 1.75 ea, this board is 2.00 ea, etc...kept the packs of 6 seperate, and it still got so confusing...

I hope whatever you decide on, it works out for you, be sure to let us know how it works out!!

BTW, I think I had 25 different designs, 5 to 10 of each design, and did pretty well, some went more than others, birthdays and Thank-yous were the most popular.

Good luck!

Default curious

Just curious what others are charging for cards. Do you charge by layers or accessories or do you charge one average price for cards? How about packs of cards?

I've had people ask and I wasn't sure what to charge.

Thanks

I just had my craft sale (at my home). Had over 400 cards made for the sale. Each design had only 8. People think they are getting something more individual if less of each are offered. I charge $2.50 each.........I figure that even though some cards are worth more and some less that it all evens out in the end. I sold 270 cards.
