Need some ideas on quick & easy (two very key terms!) teacher gifts for Christmas presents. I only have 2 children (for now, #3 due in May!) but have 7 teacher/daycare, 2 bus driver, 3 therapist and 2 previous teacher gifts to make!! That's a total of 14! Holy smokes!!
What things are the quickest but still cute things to make?
I bought 2 year calendars at the $1 Spot at Target and stamped a new cover for them, glued it to the old one and put back in the plastic. VERY quick and easy! They are 2 year calendars, and there is an address book in the back of them. Also 2,4,6,8 boxes are very quick to make and you could put a variety of little candies in them. Especially quick if you use a jumbo wheel to stamp! I made 12 + tags in about 2 hours.

You could make them each a set of personalized note cards and envelopes. I do this gift often, and just tie them together with a ribbon. Good luck! I feel like we have almost as many teachers, therapists, etc!
I feel your pain! I too have about that many! I like the notecard idea. I also do that and the teachers think it's great! I have also just got gift cards to Target, Teacher's stores, etc. I haven't been very good at "wrapping" them, but I have seen some good examples on SCS for making gift card holders. I have also found good ideas around here and the internet for themes like movie night, pamper yourself, etc. that you can put in a paint can, or bucket. Just a few items thrown together should be plenty to get the point across. They should realize it is the thought that counts. I have also done candy bar wrappers. I do have a picture of a "bouquet" I did in my small gallery if you feel one bar isn't enough.

"Customer" comments are noted but with those magic words it is hard to "lose " a complimentary note. I wrote a note to the hospital administrator after my daughter gave birth and she heard back from one of her nurses thanking her and wanting her to thank me and the administrator and the director of nursing both wrote me to thank me for my comments. So apparently compliments in writing are even fewer and farther between than candy and notecards and can be used in salary reviews and future job applications. And the price is right!!!

This is a great idea!!! I did this over the years for a few of my kids teachers - the ones that really stood out. However, I am a high school teacher, and we rarely get anything. Kids are embarrased to give their teachers gifts when they become teenagers. So, as a teacher, a note in the personnel file is great. Just three chocolate chip cookies is great! A tin of fudge is wonderful, even if it doesn't taste very good. If you are going to hand stamp things, it will knock their socks off! Absolutely anything just lets the teacher know that they are appreciated.

I made my DD's teachers(both this year and last year-as we are still close to her) clipboards. They use clipboards so I stamped on them and I will also give them both homemade Rum Cakes & Cookies. The other two teachers that my DD has for reading and math I stamped on candles--put them in a stamped box and they are ready to go. My DD is in the first grade. I love giving homemade things to people.
Oh yes it is especially kind to acknowledge the "extra " people who work with your child. The assistant teacher or the reading specialist . Guidance counselors and resource room personnel need love too.
You don't have to be "burdened" with ten more people on your gift list , but an extra plate of cookies to be shared in the resource room from suzy smith (or hand lotion for the teachers bathroom ) or even a gift subscription to a teachers mag for the library from suzy so everybody is covered..Or a library book,
Yes a book for the classroom library is always a good choice or a game for the classroom closet (or a three pack or tissues and/or hand sanitizer)
but really just a nice card with holiday wishes (realizing that not everybody celebrates Christmas so a seasonal greeting
Also offering to volunteer at school to do a project or to do typing or cutting out or organizing or phone calls at home is appreciated, and to make that an ongoing offer. Help is needed all year long not just at the holidays.
Whatever you do, unless it's an edible caramel/chocolate covered apple, don't give 'em anything with apples on 'em. And, you might avoid mugs. They always get mugs. In my 10 years as a h.s. teacher, I got so many mugs, I could have opened a mug shop. ;)

I made mini loaves of pumpkin and Okinawan sweet potato bread and wrapped them up with a homemade tag and twine. Turned out very cute. Gave that for Thanksgiving. I know my teacher's being so busy and full time working moms themselves may not have that much time to bake.
For Christmas I wanted to do something special, so I made altered clipboards. Very inexpensive, altogether less than 5 dollars, but very time consuming.
For Valentine's Day, I have decided to make my teacher's small containers of homemade icecream. I just got a Cuisinart ice cream maker and am having so much fun with it. DD's teachers love lemon cake, so I am going to make them some lemon ice cream and trim around the top of the container and stamp an insert.
How about the obvious- cards?!!? Last year I was racking my brain trying to come up with gift ideas for my daughters teachers (and all of her great grandparents- who have no more room for knick nacks and such) .
Anyways- what I did- designed 12 cards then I made 12 of each card with a matching envelope( I kind of cheated by using 12 from different classes I had already done) - I put those in these neat little boxes I found at the dollar store- added a stamped RSVP pen and a package of stamps.The cards I made used a variety of birthdays, baby cards, thinking of you, get well, wedding, and blank inside - tried to make cards they might need through out the year. I also stamped my info on the back- well this leads to more leads as people call to find out if you will teach them how to make the cards they have- and the teachers loved them!!!

Speaking of Caramel/Chocolate applies, I was just drooling over some Mrs. Prindables on QVC! They looked wonderful! I know you are looking for something inexpensive as you have many teachers, so what about a set of maybe 4 of those cute marble magnets in a cello bag, then some cute label-covered nuggets, skip the box if they take too long, and just put them in a cute in a cello bag. Almost anything stamped is cute in a cello bag stuck in a cute bagalope! As I only have about three teachers to give to, I plan on a gift card to a local drive-up coffee shop that is right across the road from the school (especially for the male teacher who goes there everyday) and then for the females, I will probably just do a decorated gift box with some cards, magnets, and nuggets to match.
These are such great ideas! With 4 kids in 4 different school situations, you can imagine the numbers I am facing...at least my youngest is homeschooled, so I get to gift myself with a new stamp set :-). Thanks for the inspiration--now to get to work!!

Very pretty! When my kids had "man" teachers in elementary school, we gave popcorn and Blockbuster gift cards too. But, I hadn't heard of SU at the time!

I'm a teacher, and I love that you all are so thoughtful. I've loved when students have given me microwave popcorn and a Blockbuster gift card like one of the previous examples. I also love the idea of a nice set of notecards.
These are all very thoughtful ideas, and that's what's important!
I am making these for giveaways this year. I use a mini legal pad, and attach cs to the back and fold it down an inch or so over the top, where I stamp a sentiment or picture. I take the adhesive backed magnetic strips and attach it to the back, and it's perfect for hanging on the fridge to keep notepaper handy. I cut the magnetic strip thin and attach it to the cap of the pen, and it can be kept right next to the pad on the fridge. I don't know about you, but I'm forever looking for a pen and paper in the kitchen, and this little set keeps 'em handy.

Is there a template for this or did you dream it up on your own? My son's teacher is male this year and I've been racking my brains trying to figure out what i was going to make and this fits the bill!!
When I worked as a preschool aide I appreciated **any** gift...so many people don't acknowledge you in any way that the ones who do really stand out! I have some lovely ornaments that were given to me then and I love hanging them and remembering those families.
This year in one afternoon I covered mini comp books, made matching RSVP pens, and 4 matching notecards for 3 teachers. They look really nice in clear stamp cases...I think I'll just add wide organdy ribbon and a tag. Very quick and inexpensive.
What about a book mark for them many schools now have an implemented tiem of reading a day and the teacher has to read as well. Sometimes a small thought goes a long way...I just received a packet of hot choclate with a little saying about take a break and put your feet up you deserve it for the time you spend volunteering...if you are creative you might be able to think of soemthing liek that for the teachers
I am planning on ordering personalized stamps with the teacher's name and then making a few note cards. I will give the notecards and the personalized stamp as the gift.

I just found this thread! What great ideas everybody has. Last year I made thank you cards for my kids' teachers that were in the school colors. I printed the name of the school on the computer and added it to the card. If I'd had the mascot, I would have probably tried to incorporate it, too! The teachers loved that they could send special notes to the people that helped in the class. One of the teachers sent one to the owner of a pumpkin patch that the class visited. The owner sent a thank you note back for the thank you note!!!

Preschool teacher here....Just to let you know, that ANY gift from your heart is truly, greatly appreciated. Anything to let us know that we are thought of and valued. Really. As a twist on this, at the end of each year, I stamp cards with Crayola Kids and write a personalized note to each child. I write down what I will most remember about them, what special qualities they had that year, what I will miss, and of course I wish them luck in the BIG world of Kindergarten. I have gotten so much positive feedback from the kids and parents about these cards. It means the world to know that your child's teacher values each student as an individual and cherishes them. Teachers are the same.
Having a cousin that is a teacher, her comments were nothing is expected but if you feel you must do something, a card, something small/usable. Also she said don't forget the specialists (ie, art, music, gym, library, etc) too... they are overlooked a lot.
In my opinion everyone can use paper or cards! Who doesn't right? What I've been doing is giving a stamped memo cube and/or a magnet or such to all teachers. Home room teachers (or the teachers my children spend the greatest amount of time with I add a gift card or school supplies with it.) I purchase the imperfect ones (what for their specials too) from www.stamponthis.com and they work out beautifully. I also purchase the cellos they suggest to bag them, add a tag and they're ready to go. I always keep a spare on hand for that last minute unexpected gift too.
Oh yeah, I tend to stamp something in the floral motif so it can be used all year long. Male teachers I tend to stamp sports. You can even customize for the music teacher with a music note stamp etc... The possibilities are endless!
