Default RAK - my mom needs a "lift"

On January 6 my grandfather passed away after 87 years of life. He celebrated his last birthday on January 5th suffering from with a high fever and horrible cold. My mom & dad have been living with him in his home since September 2001 when he fell and broke his femur (thigh bone). 1 year prior to that my mom held my grandmother's hand as she passed away from cancer of the esophagus/heart disease (her heart was already weak but the radiation treatments destroyed the replacement valves she had in her heart and that's ultimately what she died from). Anyway, over the last 4 years my poor mom has been the rock in our family and she has dedicated her entire life to taking care of family with very little thought given to her own life. WIth grandpa now gone, she is having to deal with all the details that come after a death - estate, distraught siblings, deep sense of loss - but more than that she is being faced with a life that now has no sense of purpose. She has been involved at church as much as possible but hasn't had time to make friends because she's been grandpa's primary caregiver up until he went into the home in August. Anyway, I just feel so bad for my mom and so concerned for her. I would really appreciate it if you guys can remember her in your thoughts and prayers and if you want to send her a little "pick me up" note, pm me and I will get you the mailing information you need.

Thanks guys.

Bump

Mom is feeling a bit better health wise but still overwhelmed by all there is to do now that the estate must be settled. Please continue to keep her in mind. Her siblings aren't the most helpful (try not at all!) and I am too far away to do anything except call her and give her updates on our kids and encourage her.

Thanks guys!
