I have a special request for cards. There is a lady in our church that has cancer and she is only expected to live a month or less. I want so badly for her to receive as many cards as possible. Let me explain a little about her. She was raised in an abusive family, then married an abusive man who beat her and left her homeless and penniless. She struggled to get her life in order, she joined our church about a year ago and the very next week found out she had cancer. SHe has gone through 3 bouts of chemo and 4 rounds of radiation. SHe is stronger than any other person I know. We took a christmas tree into her and she started crying, she said it was the first christmas tree she has ever had! She has never known love and seems to have only come in contact with the scum of the earth. I want her to go out of this life knowing that there are good people out there, people who love you who don't even know you. I think it is so sad that she finally gets good friends and loving support only to have it so short lived. Her birthday is this Thursday and Christmas is coming, hopfully she can stay home for them both (she has been in and out of hospice for pain control) PLEASE PLEASE help me make her last days as happy as possible, she is weak now and can't do much, but she can open cards!! If you could spare a few moments, a card and a stamp I know you will be blessed for your efforts. Thanks
Louise

Ok this may sound selfish but I have just had a lousy evening and I'm very tired but after seeing this I remind me other people are having a harder time than I am. I don't usually do these cause I don't know what to say but I will do this. Count me from Albany, Oregon.
What a wonderful, thoughtful gesture, Louise. Thank you for sharing this story with us. My card is written and sealed and will go in the mail tomorrow from Bartlett, Illinois!

I would love for everyone to use her name (Jennifer). These can be birthday or Christmas or even thinking of you cards, just something to let her know that she is in some ones thoughts.
I just addressed an envelope and enclosed a card that I made last week using the Elegant Angel stamp. I love the verse with that set......."May the wings of love enfold thee----May the strength of love uphold thee." Consider it in the mail to your friend!
LouieLouie, your story is overwhelming. My eyes are teared from Jennifers story. The thought of someone not feeling love their whole life is so devistating. It hurts my heart.
Thank you for asking for our help. I am sending a card today!
Thanks for sharing this. I will send out a card tomorrow from Northern Utah. I will also remember her in my prayers. Everyone deserves a little love! Especially at Christmas! Keep us updated.

I mailed a card yesterday. I sent a birthday card. I am so sorry to hear about this. It must be hard for you, especially at this time of year. I will be thinking of you also. Karen
I too am mailing her a Christmas card. Thank you for being one of the Angels among us, and letting us share love at this time of year to a person in need of love.
