Default red tape question

okay, so the red tape everyone is using... i ordered some of it, but i don't know if i got the right stuff. it's kind of thick (like padded, not super thick)... and it smells sort of weird, is this normal, or does it sound like i got the wrong stuff? i ordered it off amazon.

Is this what you bought: http://www.amazon.com/Inch-Liner-Ure...638512&sr=8-16

From the sounds of this product, it's for automotive use?

If that's the product you bought, its definitely NOT the right thing ... the red tape that we use is thin, thin, thin ... and no smell at all!

do you have any craft stores nearby? I was ordering mine off of e-bay because I had searched several stores and couldn't find it. Then I was with my sister and she kindly showed me that it's with the beads (the ones for papercrafting), not the other adhesives. Now I save lots of money because I generally use a coupon when I buy it. If you can't find it at the store, then try asking.

http://www.eclecticpaperie.com/tackytape.html

This is the kind that I use. I'm not sure of the shipping costs to Turkey. But now that you know the product name, you might be able to find it somewhere else.

HTH!

thanks guys; i can't believe i bought the wrong stuff. oh well, i'll find SOMETHING to use it on *lol* shipping should be too bad; since we are military, the price is the same as shipping to new york.. however, not all companies will ship via usps.

*whew* THANK GOD, the binditall was out of stock. i still spent 30 bucks *lol*
but yeah, there aren't any craft stores here; well, we actually have a tiny one, but seriously, i walked in there and was like, "where's all the stuff?" they had like 3 stamps, and nothing else. it was bad. i heard they have a new manager, so who knows, maybe it'll improve!

Here is where I get mine: http://www.thepaperpaletteonline.com..._products.html

You can get free shipping if you spend over 100.00...seriously though, thats alot of tape...lol I usually order mine in 10 roll increments. Plus at 55 yrds. a roll(for ONLY 4.25 per roll), it goes a super long way! This link was posted last year in here...I've placed 2-3 orders with them...shipping is a little slow(it's from Hawaii), but for me I just order before my last roll runs out! Its super sticky and the BEST price I've found, because if your a serious crafter, you will go thru A TON of it!
