I don't know where I was when you first posted this in June but I just found it (Nov 15) and tried it out. WOW!!! How on earth did you do this????? And the amount of time it must have taken tweaking the colors. Thanks from the bottom of my stampin heart.
Wow, I haven't tried printing anything yet but I imagine it will would be frustrating to try and match the colors. I might share this with my stamp club but I will be sure to give you credit. I am not a demo anyway so it isn't like I am trying to make money.
If you would prefer me not to share it just let me know. I am NOT going to try and take credit for it. Thanks so much.

Thank you so much for sharing this!!!!! I have often wondered if something like this were possible, but being one step above computer stupid, I had no idea how to try!!!!! I can't wait to use this on my Christmas cards!!!!

OK, call me a tech moron, which I am . . . but I have downloaded this information and would love to incorporate it, but I don't get HOW to do it . . . :(
I'm on a Mac, btw . . . and have minimal understanding of WORD ART, and Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0

Not sure how to do it on a Mac, but I use Microsoft Word. You type whatever you want, then you go to the icon to change the color of the text. Click on more colors, and then Custom. There you will see what you can change the numbers to. Either RGB mode, or HSL. Then, just match up the numbers. It is really cool! Hope that helps. Sorry if it does not work for a Mac.

To change the colors on a Mac is pretty much the same:
Open Microsoft Word.
Type your text and highlight it.
To change the font color, choose FORMAT from the top menu bar.
Select FONT.
In the drop down menu under COLORS, click on "More Colors"
In the window that opens, click on the button for the color sliders
You will find a place to enter R, G, and B "values" for the color mixing.
Thank you for this amazing piece of technological and color-matching brillance!
Kaylyn, I do know what it took to do this and the work you all did is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for doing the work and then sharing it with us all!!!
Holy cows! You and all who helped with this are super awesome kind generous giving and talented folks! Really. Thanks so much. I can't even imagine how much time and patience it took to create this amazing document!
Can I just say..... a million thanks. I don't know the whole story regarding people selling this or passing it off as their own- shame on them! Know that you are a much better person, and people like that make us appreciate people like you all the more!!!!
Wow! This is incredible! I just came across it. I've always wished I could match the color of wording inside my cards to SU colors. Thank you so much for compiling this list. I can't even imagine how much time it took you.

I guess that I am lost here... I am new to the stamping world and all of these abbreviations are killing me! First... what is DH? Next... what is this chart for? I don't get it. What brand are we matching to and how does it work? Sorry if this is a nonsense question.
Well, DH is darling husband. That one I know. I think if you go to the home page, there is somewhere that you can click to get all of the abbreviations. I only know a few.
They are matching colors on the computer to Stampin Up's 48 colors. I have never tried it, but it is explained here.
These codes are for matching font colors to SU! 48 color palette. For instance, the program I use is MSWord. I can plug these codes into the font custom color selector and then use that color to write. This is great for putting greetings on the inside of cards or just the right saying on the card that you don't have a stamp for. You can also use it for personalization.
I use it for my business cards and then I can stamp on them in the same color. It makes it look like the stamped image was printed or the written image was stamped.
I'm really tired so I'm sure this was not as clear as it could be but I hope that helps a little.
Oh my gosh....... how wonderful is this going to be! I cannot wait to get home to my computer and plug all of these in and try it! Thank you sooo much for the explanation. It helps a ton!
Has anybody tried the Lavender Lace RGB code? For me it seemed more like almost amethyst? Is it just me? Every other RGB code I've tried so far has been PERFECT!!!!!
The RGB values depend greatly on the printer. I have a access to a color laser for my printing and I am having to adjust all of the color values to get them to match.
I still love the list. It is a great place to start from. Thank you for the list.
Kaylyn!!!!!!!!! This is absolutely fabulous!!!!!!!!! Thanks to all those the helped with this project-as you can see we are all in awe. Wish there was a way to save all the new colors without having to enter them in each time.......one can always hope that Word will have that function. (and if there is a way and I haven't figured it out.....please let me know) THANK-YOU AGAIN!!!!!
This is a wonderful tool, THANKS. I was trying to figure out if there was a way to save the color value and save it for later use. For example, could I enter all the colors values in and then be able to recall them by their SU names at a later time?

Here it is! This was conceptualized and done by the wonderfully talented Wilma Bass...please send her a Thank You when you get a chance!! ~ K
These are the Avery Labels for File Folders (Avery 8167). I used this for my new folders after we changed colors last year, and added the neutrals and various other things to make the sheet full. I hated to waste the space when I had 80 labels per sheet!
Other uses for this: I can open it, and want to type in Almost Amethyst, I can just copy and paste the label into my document. Then, just type over the words using my own words/journaling. That way, I don't have to open the RGB codes to change them, it's automatically there on the page.

Thank you, {{{{{{{{Whitney}}}}}}}}}! I will try your suggestions and hopefully, I'll "get it!" :mrgreen!!!!
Did you ever get this to work on your Mac? I have an iBook G4 and was wondering if I can do it the same in AppleWorks? Hum, let me know if you get around to this thread or if there are any other Mac users out there that can know what to do. TIA-----

This is just amazing. I had no idea that anything like this could be done. As they say - you learn something everyday. They also say "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" but that's not true. We can be taught, we just need more detailed instruction!
I haven't read all of the posts, but I just tried this for the first time - orchid opulence for me.
I typed my message in several fonts, then followed your directions, and send the cardstock through the printer. It came out black. The I realized I needed to "select all" and change the whole thing to the color I selected. Duh!
Thank you again. This opens up a whole new world to me!
Kaylyn,
Where have you (and your friends) been all of my stamping life. You cannot image the hours, (not to mention, frustration) I spent when I first started as a Demo, trying to match font with c/s.
This is SO awesome.
Thanks for Sharing
Wow! I'm awed by the amount of work this shows and your generosity in sharing it on here. I've never seen anything like it or thought about an exact color match. I usually just randomly pick one out that I think looks close.
Thank you!
