Right-handed people-- how do you position your SAMJ?
I am left-handed, so I don't know if I stamp the same way as right-handed people. I want to teach the Stamp-a-majig to my club tonight, and I'm wondering how most people position the SAMJ if you are right-handed?
Do you hold the SAMJ so it looks like a "T", and place the plastic to the left-side of the T? Or some other way?

I love my stamp-a-ma-jig!!
I am right handed and hold like a "T" and position the poly sheet to the right. That way I am actually stamping with my right hand and holding the "T" with my left.
Hope this helps.......
Whether I position the tool vertically (with the crosspiece at the top and the imaging sheet to the right) or horizontally (with the crosspiece to the left and the sheet above it) depends on the shape of the wood block I'm using. It helps me to keep the stamp properly positioned if the longer side is placed lengthwise relative to the SAMJ.

I agree with Rachel, the position I hold it depends partially on the size and shape of the block.
But most of the time, I hold it with the long side parallel to me, and the little short projecting bit to the left. (I'm mostly right-handed). I think it's only for long narrow blocks that I would place it with the long side upwards.
I hold the "T" with my left hand and it's positioned as an upside down "T." Then I put the clear sheet in place with my right hand. Then I hold the "T" with my left thumb at the bottom (it seems shaped just for that) and hold the plastic in place at the top with my left forefinger and middle finger while I stamp with my right hand.
All of which tells you that you can probably show your class several different ways and then tell them that they should do it whichever way feels comfortable to them

This is exactly what I do, now I don't have to type it all out lol

I also a lefty and use my tool 'backwards' as my SIL's tell me. I even had one of them using the paper trimmer upside down as that is how I have to use it. Anyway -
I show them how to use the SAJ and then tell them to find a comfortable placement for themselves. 9 out of 10 times it is the upper corner.
