Default Scrapbook page not sticking

One of my customers is having a problem with the layers on her scrapbook pages not sticking well. She uses mono and no more that 3 layers of cardstock. No fancy embellishments.

Are others having this problem? Is Mono this best adhesive?

She does not like using the plastic page protectors. I am guessing that handling the pages is causing this. What do you think?

Hi, Debbie,

For scrapbooking, I almost always use the pressure sensitive adhesive mounts. I can buy boxes of 500 (called sticker squares). They are photo safe, acid free, and sticky on both sides. They also come in regular or mini sizes. I do alot of layering on my pages, too, but I do use the page protectors. I just put several of these on each side of the paper I am adhering to the page. Hope this helps.

OOPS  I meant I put several of the squares on each EDGE of the paper, not on each SIDE!

Default Sticker squares

The sticker squares sound like a good alternative to the mono. Do you get them through SU! ?

If not, do you recommend a brand?

For scrapbooking I also use Photo Fix mounting squares by 3L. I get them at the scrapbook store. For cards I use mono, but I don't think it is the strongest hold.

Mono really isn't strong enough for multilayers if she lives in a humid area (like me in Florida).

I use Vario Tabs that we used to sell. Hermafix makes those. They are strong.

Our Sticky Strips will hold ANYTHING, but it's a little more expensive and not as easy to use as the Vario Tabs.

One thing I learned while studying at the Art Institute of Seattle, most of the time no matter which adhesive you use, including glue sticks, if you apply your adhesive to your base page, the apply adhesive to the item you want to stick to your base, you will have a permanent bond. The adhesive just has to touch (cross paths).

When I hold my stamp camps etc, I instruct this to all my customers. ALSO very good to know: YOU DON"T NEED MUCH ADHESIVE if using this method. A dab here and there is all it takes. AS long as the adhesive touches.

Just think of rubber cement. If you use it on one side, it is a temp hold, but if you use it on both sides, it permanent.

This is a little long, I hope you understand what I'm trying to get across. Good Luck!
