Default Scrapbooking

I am about to start my first scrapbook for my children. Can anyone tell me what type of glue etc. I should use for putting borders, pictures etc. on the pages? Should I use mono adhesive, or what? Thanks so much for the help in advance.
You all are just so amazing to share ideas. I appreciate all of you.

Mono or something similar works just fine I use the Duck brand tape runners from Wal-Mart, I like them because I can pick up a pack when I'm doing my shopping I also use Glue dots for heavier stuff. HTH

Hi - i have a lot better luck with the CM tape runner for scrapbooking... i am pretty new and tend to move things around a bit and i like the fact that the CM adhesive lets me do that in my scrapbook. i use the mono for cards tho since it gives a firmer immediate stick!

You will find lots of opinions of which adhesive is best for your scrapbooks. You really want something that is acid free. There are tons of options out there. You may have to do some experimenting to find out what you like best.

Like KathleenH said, there are lots of different opinions on what works best. The only piece of advice I can offer - I've had no luck with glue sticks. I keep losing pieces of the scrapbook pages I've done using glue sticks...

Personally, I use scotch double sided tape.

I always get adhesives marketed at scrapbookers because I feel more secure that they will not harm my photos than general-purpose but supposedly acid-free adhesives do. I really like using photo tabs (Pioneer or Fiskars brands) because I can move items around if I set them down lightly, and when I have found where I want the items to go I just push on the locations of the tabs once and I know it will stay put.

My other favourite adhesive is the Dotto permanent adhesive runner. Any adhesive that remains exposed after I (mis)place an item on my layout can just be rubbed off with a finger, and I haven't had any problems with things staying put.

I have a tonne of glue sticks that I just don't use because I worry about items popping off because glue stick glue doesn't flex very well when it's dry. I've heard that if you burnish a glue-sticked item, it will stay put until the Second Coming, but I don't have a bone folder yet.

I've been scrapping for over 8 years and I use the CM tape runner and photo tape and also splits. I tried the mono but I just don't like how it skips and doesn't put the glue where I want it. I buy the CM tape runner in a case of 6 at a time so I don't run out as I scrapbook a lot of pages with my triplets.

Have you tried the new tape they carry, I used to use the runner but I love the roll of tape and it has lasted awhile!! I also use scotch double sided tape.
