Default Self-adhesive chandelier shades?

Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone has ever bought and used the self-adhesive chandelier shades by Hollywood Lights? I bought them at Joanne's and covered them with fabric and trim. Unfortunately...I realized after the fact that they recommend a 25 watt bulb. I currently have six 60 watt bulbs in the chandelier in my kitchen....much too bright without shades and also the light is bouncing off the top of cabinets as there is nothing to direct it downward. I was going to drop down to 40 watts, but I chickened out thinking those might be too hot and got the 25 watt.

I wonder what would happen if I did use higher than 25 watts? Would the glue start to melt through the fabric or would the shades burn????? Has anyone ever used these and if so, with what size bulb?

Sorry for posting it here, but there seems to be no "crafty talk" going on in the non-stamping forum. I suppose you could stamp on those shades or cover them with designer paper.....so I guess I'm ok!

TIA for any input!
