Okay, Amber, can you answer something for me since you seem to understand this? Does the policy now mean I DO NOT have to use the SU logo stamp on the back of my cards? I can just use a personalized one with my name or whatever? Also, does it mean I CAN sell in a beauty shop or flower shop or wherever? So confused! haha!

I'm not Amber but I know the answer to this question: Any card sold with any SU images need the Stampin' Up! copyright stamp on the back. It doesn't necessarily have to be a stamp made by SU. I ordered a self inking stamp with my name, website and SU! copyright that I use on my cards. HTH.
I sell all most all of my cards at work. I'm a Police Dispatcher and work in a 24 hour 7 day a week operation. Because I work in the St Paul/Minneapolis area that means I work in a large communications center. I sell my cards $2 each or 3 for $5 and again I say ..... I sell alot. I have probably made close to $300 if not more since Nov 07. People actually approached me looking for St Patty's and Easter Cards. (I didn't have the time..........YIKES!). I currently have 2 special orders that I have to fill.

I use the regular clear envelopes (I sell them!) for my cards and I simply put a post it note that thas the sentiment stamped on the inside of the card stamped on it too in the back of the card. I package all my cards in clear envelopes with a white or ivory envelope (which ever suits the card) inside. I sell sooooo many cards. Blessings to you all. Sell sell sell.
I sell mine for $4.95 + each and normally I make a minimum of $100+ per week depending on how many I feel like making. I think last year I figured it out I made a couple thousand all together with the Christmas rush and all was nice cause it pays for my stamping habit and quite a few Christmas gifts. All cards have a envelope and clear plastic protector on them. All are made with embellishments 99% of mine are not SU but I do have a copyright stamp for those that are. Word of mouth is best advertisement I get tons of special orders for birthday's or huge christmas card orders. I also always make sure that I give my son's teachers Card presents for christmas like a clear box with 6 cards and envelopes in. Those all have my stamp on back which includes my email address, website and name. Those cards i just gave away gives my name to about 60+ more people as this year he had 11 teachers.

Um, hate to break it to you, but that's not true. I copied this directly from the Angel Policy on Stampin' Up!'s website:
Quote:
All of Stampin' Up!'s images are copyrighted, which means that they may not be copied without permission. To help protect the rights granted by these copyrights, all craftwork created for sale using Stampin' Up! images must be marked with one of the images from the official Stampin' Up! Limited License stamp sets shown in the Idea Book & Catalog.
They can be from the retired sets as well, but the policy clearly states that it must be one of the SU! stamps.

SU recently changed their angel policy to allow sales of hand stamped items at retail locations. You just have to have the copyright stamp on the back.
does anyone know if provo craft has updated their angel policy? the only one i found after a google search was from 2005 and it is very long & strict-- for instance, cannot combine other copyrighted materials with theirs on a project, no selling on the internet or fixed retail locales, quantity limits, etc, etc. i plan on contacting the company directly, but thought i'd check here first. i want to use cuttlebug dies and embossing folders on cards to sell :(
Yeah, I have a Cricut and I forgot that was their policy. They should look at updating the "not combining with other copyrighted materials" part, since it is difficult to make cards with JUST the Cuttlebug and no sentiments from stamps! They keep coming out with Cuttlebug folders and not all would look great with cut out sentiments from the Cricut or the Cuttlebug plates. And some of them you definitely can't use alone since they are like backgrounds. Just my thoughts though!
I was so happy to hear that Stampin' Up changed their policy. I love their stamps. I wanted the option to be able to sell my cards on my website, if I ever chose to do so and now I can as long as I put one of their stamps on the back.
I just found this thread, so I'm confused. Are we allowed to sell cards that have SU on them on the internet now, spots like ebay if we use the copyright stamp on the back? I already sell my cards at work and occasionally at craft fairs or flea markets (not permenent). will someone please let me know, I would like to try this!
I am glad SU changed their policy! I was about to stop buying from them lol! I would love it if Provo Craft would change theirs. I know about a year ago they had a really strict one but not sure if they changed it. K and Co used to say no to selling their stuff but they have changed theirs recently!

Did you ladies know that all you have to do to subscribe to a thread is click the "Thread Tools" pulldown at the top of the page? Just thought that might be helpful to the folks who get e-mails every time there's a post to one of their subscribed threads.

SU changed their angel policy within the last year and now allows this. The cards must have an angel stamp (copyright Stampin' Up!) on the card or packaging.
What a great thread!! I've been selling in Christmas craft fairs for the last 3 years and have done well enough to spoil my DH at Christmas without using money he had to earn!!! It would be nice to make money year round without having to go to the shows all the time as it is hard to find child care!! I think I will look into putting out a few boxes at some friends/families places of work!!
I have friends who sell cards on Esty. They use SU stamps (with the SU copyright) but they also use ProvoCraft products ie. Cuttlebug embossed images etc.
According to ProvoCraft's Angel Policy:
Yes you can use other items with Provo Craft products for sell, however there are some key points to remember with the Angel Policy. You can not sell any product made using Provo Craft products on the Internet. You can sell items made at local craft fairs or Craft bazaar type sales however the items can not exceed more than approximately 50 per month. You can not use our products to produce items created in any "mass production" type of way.
I take this to mean that you cannot sell items made with ProvoCraft products on the internet even if you have SU copyright on them as that only covers the SU product.
Is this correct. I'd like to sell cards in the future and I'm trying to figure out what I can and cannot do.
This is alllllllllllllll so confusing...what you can..what you cant...who allows what. I actually got a letter yesterday from the owner of "House Mouse" stamps and told me to take my card that I had posted on ebay off because it was a copyright stamp and i can use it for PERSONAL use but not for anything else...I actually had to go to the website of HouseMouse and check out if this was a legit letter....and I guess it was.
I dont understand why you cant...but if I knew that BEFORE I bought the stamp....I would not have bought it...oh well...live and learn.
I guess Ill just sell his stamp on ebay now!

Sorry that you got a letter, thats sucky. I would be emailing the person back telling them that they just lost me as a customer and I am selling House Mouse stamps on ebay! I cannot stand companies who are so strict like that!
I just emailed House Mouse to ask that the reconsider their policy. ...that I'd have to refrain from future HM purchases...
Yep...same here. I didnt bother writing. His letter to me was pretty clear....use my stamp..but dont try to make a living selling handmade cards with my stamp. So, no more HM stamps for me! There's PLENTY of other stamps out there that are just as cute...if not more! I'll buy and use those!

So question for those that have a basket of cards to sell. How are people paying you? Do you have a piggy bank in the basket or do you make arrangements with who ever is allowing you to sell your cards there? I'm planning on selling my cards in a few months and this is something I've wondered about. Thanks.
I sell mine for $4.95 + each and normally I make a minimum of $100+ per week depending on how many I feel like making.
Wow Wendalyn.. your cards look great, fabulous, amazing.. and they all look like they are a lot of work (and time).. so where do you get all that time? does your day have 40 hours? or are you like Leonardo da Vinci who needed to sleep only 4 hours a day? ;)
