Default SELLING NUGGET BOXES

Last year I made my son's teachers "thanks" nugget boxes. One of them called me today and asked me to make her 35 boxes for her daughter's engagement party. She wants to place them on the dishes as a party favor and said that she'll pay whatever I charge her. I figure I should take into account the price of the chocolate nuggets, ribbon, and cs, as well as my time which is very limited with three kids. This is the first time anyone has asked me to make something for them so I have no idea how to go about pricing. Any suggestions from you pros will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

In the crafting world near me , you usually find the cost of your supplies and double it. That would be your total price. I know she said she would pay whatever you want, but if it was too outlandish I'm sure she would back out of the deal.

Also, for her order, I would ask for 50% up front and the rest at the time of delivery. That way you should have enough cash to pay for your supplies and in case she backs out at least you are only out your time.

I agree. Unless you get some really good deals and it does not cost to much to make. If it only costs you .25 to make you want more than .50 or a 1.00 a piece for yourself. Congrats on the big sale!

Thanks for all of the great advice ladies. I appreciate your taking the time to respond to my question. Now I'd better get busy on those 35 boxes.

I charge $1. a box at craft fairs and they sell really well. If I don't eat all the chocolate first.

I charge $2 at craft fairs and always sell out!!! I also did some for a friend's baby shower---charged $2 each---made 50. They were a little bit more elaborate with the baby's name and everything, but I definitely made money.

I recently made some for a friend's baby shower and one of the guests asked if I would make some for her DD's bridal shower. I said no bc I just can't be sure that I would have found the time to do them, but I probably would have charged about $1 each without the chocolate. I would have had to mail them so I would have sent empty boxes with stamped address labels and they could have put the chocolate part together themselves.

I usually do three nuggets in the boxes, but for the shower there were 5 chocolates in the box.
