I'm new to shaker cards, always seemed so hard, but when I read the tutorial on this webiste, I found it is easy!
Anyway, here are my questions:
Do you have to do anything special when you mail them? I haven't tried yet, but I am making some for the 4th, and I don't want them ruined in the mail.
I used punched shapes and they all stuck together. Does anyone else have this problem? Any solutions.
Lorraine, I have never sent one out yet but I take your first one to the PO and see what they say. They have this cardboard thing that they take your card and slip it through. If it goes through without catching up than you are ok. If it does catch up on the cardboard than it will probably have to either have more postage or be handstamped. I always go to the PO now If I have a question to safe. Please let us know what happens. Carol
Hi,
I send them out all the time. I just stick them in the clear envelopes and send them away. Never had something happen to those yet.
The other day I send a gel card away in the same manner, like I have done MANY other times, and that one popped. I felt so bad...but all the other times they got to the birthday girl just fine.
i did shaker cards for my daughters invites this year... but i had not yet discovered micro beads. so, the foam tape was extra thick to allow the regular beads to move, and the postage was nearly fifty cents per card.. but the micro beads shouldnt be near as thick. am planning to try them very soon!
I did some christmas cards this last year for close family and sent them in a small padded envelope.. I just didn't want to take the chance that they would get wrecked!
I have sent my shaker cards in the clear envelopes to New Zealand and have had no problems...yet! I use micro beads and those are small enough to move freely and make good noise !
Hello,
I send out shaker cards out all the time and I have never had a problem with them. I had a problem with confetti in them sticking, so I started using micro beads mixed in.
I make them all the time, and use confetti that you can buy at Michael's. They have confetti for every occasion and since they are flat, they move around easily with thinner double stick foam tape!

Blessed are the flexible, for they shall never be bent out of shape!
I've sent shaker cards and haven't had any problems as of yet. But, I haven't tried the confetti. Its usually sand or beads. And they don't cost me any more than a regular stamp!
