Hi, everyone! I'm so jealous! I couldn't make it this year. I was wondering if, when y'all get started, if you could report on some of the stories she relates in her speeches. Remember sometime in June they asked us to share stories about how Stampin' Up has influenced our relationships? I sent my story in and they contacted me last week for a photo because Shelli might excerpt some of what I wrote. Could you please let me know if she does? My name is Jennifer Evans. I am just so excited to be part of this company and love Stampin' Up! Thanks,
Jennifer
How awesome for you! I hope they do use your story, that would be absolutely awesome! I love Su! too and coudn't be happier with the friendships I have made and all that I havfe learned about myself! I'm not at convention, but would love to hear if she used your story too!
Here's an excerpt of the email that I sent to SU... so excited! I hope Shelli uses it!
"...Out of ten people in my club, I only knew one of them before SU (my mom). They are all people that I met by selling SU. They are women (and one man) that I have become friendly with. I have traveled with one of them to Nashville for a day trip. The point is, I have developed relationships with these women that I couldn't even imagine having two years ago.
While running my clubs, I also worked a part-time job, attended nursing school, and took care of my house and family. I was busy indeed! Sometimes, the only "me" time I had was related to making and demoing club projects. Well, on May 8 of this year I graduated with my nursing degree. Nothing prepared me for my club meeting two weeks later. Before the meeting my members approached me with a scrapbooking album. Each member had made one double-page layout. It was my gift for graduating. I was truly and deeply touched.
Recently, one of my former club members that now does business with my downline (because of location) just found out that her 4-year old daughter has a rare form of leukemia. They are having some rough moments. They are four hours away from home while their daughter undergoes treatment and can expect to be there for the next 6-8 months. I sent out a call to other SU demos to send cards. The response has been awesome!..." <end quote>
SIDE NOTE: I just want to say that sometimes I read a lot of negativity about SU. Like everyone else, I don't always agree with some of their decisions, but I always respect them and try to embrace the changes. There is usually always a positive benefit that I have not foreseen down the road. Yeah, prices are going up, but they're still competitive... I just paid $20.00 for a three piece small stamp set at the LSS. I value the creativity, relationships, and money that enables my hobby.
So, with that being said, please let me know if you hear any of this in Shelli's speeches. Thanks!
Jennifer, thanks for sharing that with us. It is very true that SU! is a comunity. We come for the hobby and business and stay for the friendships that we make. I have loved being a part of the SU! family. I signed up 3 years ago and my mom and sister about fell over. they have been demos for 13 years!
That's a wonderful story! I can just imagine the joy the club-members had in making scrapbook pages for you as a graduation gift. I'm really glad you told the story here.
SU contacted me as well and asked for a pic!! I decided to become a demonstrator to get over my fear of speaking in public. I want to teach Bible study classes...kinda hard to do if you do not like getting up in front of people! SU not only has helped me in this area, but the friendships I have made, especially with one group of awesome ladies, has been reward enough. We have shared laughs over silly things we have done, and tears when we have had to put our parents in nursing homes and when loved ones have passed away. You can't put a price tag on any of that. Would someone please let me know if they share my story? TIA...Judy Miles
Cool...thanks. By the way, for those of you who also sent in pics, contact the person who requested the pic a week or two after Session 2 and she'll send you the transcript of what was shared. At least she said she'd do that to me...

Yup - that is what she shared this morning! Congratulations!
She also shared Sharon's story about her two boys! Way to go Sharon! It was great to hear about a fellow Mainer!
Thanks Chrissie for the update. I think that is really cool... even though I'm not at convention, I'm still a part of convention. Ditto for Sharon, too! :>
