Default Should I buy the SU markers?

I've been debating on whether to get the SU markers -- what do you use yours for? Do you use them a lot? I have tons of Sharpies. What's the advantage of using the SU markers over using Sharpies?

TIA,

Karen

Hi, Karen-

I love the SU markers. They were one of the first things I purchased from SU years ago. I mainly make cards and find that sharpies will leak through some papers and cardstocks. The SU markers don't. Plus, there is nothing better than being able to match the inks and papers. I have all of the ink pads but when I want to do something small or water color, I use the markers all the time!

I hope this helps.

I use them on a lot of things! I write in cards, color in images, do the splatter technique, on a stamp with "parts" so that each part is a different color. oh the list could go on and on, can you tell that i love mine???

YES YES YES! Get them! I've been a demo for almost 3 years and finally just got the whole set this summer. It's such a large expense, but so worth it.

I love them for coloring directly on a stamp to get a multi-colored image. They're so juicy that you get a great stamped image when you do this. You also get a fine tip for journaling and writing. And don't forget coloring in your stamped image.

I'm sure there are a million other ideas form far more talents SCSers than me. But I just had to chime in and say Get Them!!

YES!!! I love my markers! They are great for coloring direct on stamp sets like More Petal Prints. Also you can fix little areas where you did'nt get a perfect image, with the fine tips. All you Demo's- How many complete sets of markers have you sold? I have a marker club going and will have sold 25 sets when they finish in Jan.

Thanks for posting this thread! I have really wanted the full set, and I'm trying to justify it now. I figured if I ordered the full set plus a few more things I'd be able to get some Sellabration sets. I'm trying to hold off till January 1 to place another order. It's hard, but I think I'll use the markers as my reward -- I really want to be able to add little bits of colors to various stamps, and I really see the markers as the only way to do this.

absolutely - get them!!! the other great use i have recently discovered is using them for watercoloring with the aqua pens. I have not yet invested in the ink refills. but i can create a palette by 'scribbling' on a plastic stamp case with my markers and then use this ink with the aquapens!!!

have fun!

YES!!!! Get them! I love my SU markers. I don't have "all" the stamp pads yet (almost though), but it is perfect if you do not have them all. You can use them directly on the stamp and have all 48 colors. I use them almost every time I stamp and LOVE them. I think it has been worth the $$!!

Oh yeah...definitely get them! I use them all the time! It is just great to know that you don't have to worry about if you have the exact matching color. I have one customer that has been saving her money so that she can buy them at sell-a-bration and get a couple of free sets. You will never regret having them! ~Lorie

I had to have them all too. It took me a while. I bought the bold brights a long time ago and hardly used them because I didn't have them out. But i mostly didn't use them because it seemed like I always needed one from the other sets. In the last two months I purchased the other three sets and I am SOOOO glad I did. I love using them to color in, to color directly on the stamps, use the blender pen with the, and write with them. I just love using them.

Someone mentioned buying now verses January. I have a $200 personal order to put in (i'm a demo) and I decided to wait til January. I could save $20 on shipping or get 4 free sets. Hhmmm.... lets think about that. I think I'll take the 4 free sets.

Get the markers.

yes yes yes!!!!!

Buy the SU markers.

These are the best markers I've ever owned. The first SU marker I ever bought was Garden Green back in 1998. I've used it all the time. It still has ink in it! 6 years and its still not dry yet!!!!!

I agree! Get them! I did it through a Marker Club that I hosted- $40 a month gets you one color family of markers, assorted cs (8-1/2 x 11) in that family and 10 sheets of a neutral cs. You get 4 members together and each member is a hostess for 1 month and gets the hostess benefits and the case. At the end of 4 months, you all have the complete set of markers and all the paper and 4 neutral colors to make cards/ scrapbook pages with. This is an awesome way to make sales for the quarter if you are a demo! Just an idea so you don't have to put all of the money up front.

Default Markers

When I got my markers a few of my stamping friends and I did a marker club, where we each purchased a set over a four month period. Each month we would pool our money together and pay for one whole set of markers. Each month one person would host the order as well a little something extra equalling the $150 and that way we also got the benefit of a hostess set. At the end of the four months we had a whole set of markers and the carry case to go with it along with a hostess stamp set. This made it more managable and easier to explain to our husbands. The demonstrator we went through even tossed in a special thank you treat. We are now doing a ribbon club.

Infact, I'm listing my markers in the BST section, so if you don't want to invest, that may be a good way to try them ...

But yes, GET THE MARKERS!!! THEY ARE GREAT!!

They are the BEST!
I have tried several other brands and the SU ones are tops as far as long lasting!
No guesswork as far as matching colors means more time to stamp or dream!

I use mine all the time, for everything! I bought a stamp set (retired) that is really hard to get a clean image with and filled it in with my matching marker (which matched perfectly!) I was so excited, one more use of the markers! You could not tell that I had to fill in the image with the marker!! You can use them for watercoloring, substituting for those stamp pads you don't have, etc. etc.! I saved up my money and bought them during sell-a-bration two years ago and added money to get three stamps sets free. My markers are all still in perfect shape, there is nothing available like the brush tip and the 48 colors that I have ever seen! Go for it, you will love them!

Thanks for the advice! I am a demo, but I don't have any of the markers. I'm still trying to get all of the ink pads! I did email my current club members to see if any of them want to be in a marker club -- that way if I don't have four members, I can be the fourth!

I guess I'll take the plunge and get them

No doubt about it! Every stamper should have these. They are fabulous, I use them for everything. Coloring in stamps, writing on cards. EVERYTHING!!! They are really worth the expense, if there is one thing you should have it is these! Buy and enjoy!

I started with the the soft subtle and rich regal markers in 1998 (my demo did not do marker clubs back then, but that is a great idea!); but really got hooked.

I bought the whole set last January and do not know how I lived without them! I use them nearly every day! I'd definitely recommend buying the whole set.

I didn't read all the threads for this but I say you should go for it. I use mine almost everytime I stamp. I don't have all the ink pads so they fill in for that plus you can use them with blender pens and so much more.

I have the old markers, and was wondering if anyone thought the new ones were better. I'm a demo and just explain that they look a little different when I take to a WS. Some of the old colors don't match as well, so I'm thinking of getting the new ones.

Your thoughts.........

I'm sure you would be able to sell the markers if you had them to show. I know that always works for me. I see it I buy it.

Phoo on all of you! I was just reading this post to find confirmation that by only having the blender pens and pads for fill in color I wasn't missing out on anything. . . now I want the whole set of markers, too!

Definitely get them!! I purchased the whole set at the first workshop I hosted and I'm soooo glad I did. I wanted to have all the colors, but I couldn't afford all the ink pads at once and plus, I got that nice little holder;).

That was almost 4 years ago and now that I'm a demo, I recommend them to everyone as a must have! I still don't have all the ink pads and those markers are still like new.

I just placed my order today for them and CAN'T wait until they get here :!: ...remember if you order them now you will get FREE shipping. That's why I ordered mine now - it was worth it to me than waiting until SAB. Plus I'll need them to demo how they are a must have item...

If you haven't been convinced yet, I say YES! I don't use mine alot, but when I need them, they are there and I'm glad I have them! I got mine through a marker club and I'm glad I did! It is a big expense, but once you have them, you'll be glad you did!

YES! YES! YES! abbbb-soo-root-re! This was one of the first purchases I made waaayyy back in 1998 when I became a demonstrator! I haven't had to replace any of them since. Only when they added those two new colors, did I have to add to my set! I used them constantly and would NEVER part with them!!! Yes.. I love my markers too!!!
