Default Small Unmounting issue

I bought 2 dollar stamps from Michael's to practice on.
On one of the stamps the red rubber came off easily and cleanly.

On the other one I was able to remove the red rubber from the foam, but a thin layer of black sort of fuzzy material remained attached to the rubber. I am afraid to try UnDo because it may deteriorate the rubber.

How to you remover the remaining black film if that happens during unmounting ?

Thanks
Barbara

I use UnDo when that happens. I just make sure to rinse it well and use a stamp cleaner right after to condition it. I've done it loads of times with no trouble!
HTH!

I've soaked the rubber in GooGone for a few minutes at a time and just made sure to rinse it off completely. There have not been any ill effects in doing this. I have also experienced that some rubber refused to give up that fuzzy black stuff no matter what and just learned to live with it. The fuzzy stuff makes it difficult to stick other adhesives to the rubber so I hope undo works for you.

UnDo removed all the adhesive and black fuzzy material. I then rinsed it with water and then sprayed it with home made stamp cleaner that has Glycerin in it to condition the rubber .
I left the stamp cleaner on the rubber for a minute or two before I rinsed it off.
So I hope the rubber is OK.

The black fuzzy layer would have made it difficult to stick another adhesive on the rubber, plus the back was a slight bit uneven.

I definitely like the small space needed to store just bare rubber.

Thanks for your advise !!

I thought of using Goo Gone, but the lable said not to use on rubber. It didn't hurt your stamps? (Please tell me 'no'...I'm all out of UNDo and it's expensive!)

Just know that those stamps are not like the stampin up ones to unmount. I find them much more stubborn and hard to peel off, even with microwaving!

I just read the UnDu label. It says it can be used on: paper, glass, plastic, walls most clothing, finished leather, vinyl, upholstery, carpet, wood furniture, metal and more.

The only caution is " it may harm unfinished leather or suede.

Rubber is not mentioned
