Default smaller Canvas BG - will SU replace?

Did I read somewhere on SCS where SU will replace the Canvas BG stamp if you ordered from the first mini it was offered in?

My gives me fits when it comes up short on card fronts.

Thanks, Janice

I've wondered the same thing -- thanks for asking! Mine will only work if I'm stamping on something that is 1\4" smaller than a full card front. I love, love, love the canvas stamp and would like to be able to use it for a full card.

I hadn't heard anything about this! I'd like to have a bigger one - this is probably my fave/most versatile BG stamp. If anyone finds out, I'd like to know!

Oh, I would love that. I have the same problem. But my guess would be they won't replace them. Can't imagine what that would cost. Hope someone has an answer.

I recall such a SCS post as well...I told my demo about it and she was going to contact SU!....haven't heard those results yet but am still hoping SU! will replace it. I love the canvas BG but complain each and every time I use it since it is too small....Looking forward to hearing the results if SU! will replace...!

I'm sure this will send an boatload of calls and emails to SU's way but here it what happened to me.

I emailed SU (got the address from their website - I'm not a demo) saying that I ordered it out of the mini and was disappointed since the mini said it would cover a full card front and it did not. I got an email back a few days later saying

Quote:

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the background stamps that you have purchased. Please know that an error was made when cutting the Background stamp sets; however, this error has been fixed. We would be happy to replace the background stamps that we cut too small. If interested in receiving replacements, you will need to contact your demonstrator to process an Order Correction. Please have your demonstrator refer to incident number ###. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause you.
I forwarded the email to my consultant who wasn't sure what to do but she called them and they sent me out a new stamp by USPS. My demo said she had some papers that she would give to me and that I needed to send it in with the stamp (at SU's cost) or they would charge her account the price of the stamp.

So, they've done it at least once and it wouldn't hurt to try it!

Red face Canvas

Does that mean that if i waited and ordered it out of the new cat, that it will fill the entire card, but it was smaller when ordered out of the mini?

Yup...that's exactly what it means!

And thanks for the reminder that I need to get my demo started on the return/replace paperwork!

Mine is a teenie bit short and I originally purchased it out of the mini.

I'm so glad for this thread. It sounds like I can get mine replaced.

I'm not one to really call and complain, but it iss really kind of annoying to me everytime I want to stamp a full cardfront.

Thanks for the information.

Well that's interesting, because when I heard about this, I did call DS, and pretty much got the "too bad, so sad" story, well, he didn't really say that, but said they would not be able to send out replacement rubber, that it was not defective. Maybe I should try again.

I just called today for Canvas stamp replacements for myself and one of my customers. She didn't hesitate to replace them and even told me if any of my other customers have one that is too small, to call SU back!

YES!! Try again ;) If the stamp is not as long as it should be then it's not correct which =s defective. True maybe the stamping image is fine but it doesn't stamp enough of it.

Can someone give me the exact measurements of either the too small one or the correct sized one? I ordered mine from the mini, but late in the campaign, so I don't know if I have the correct size. I don't want to ask my consultant until I know it is the wrong size.

Thanks!

I have one I ordered from the Winter Mini and it measure 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches which is too small for a card front. HTH.

Yes, that helps. Thanks. I do have the small one, so guess I'll contact my consultant to see about getting the larger one.

What size is the "new" canvas stamp? Seems as though 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 would fit a card front, barely.

The proper size of the Canvas background is 4 1/2 x 5 3/4 inches. The smaller one leaves a bit of a strip at one end of the page. SU is awesome about this as well.
This is the email I got from SU ! What a fantastic company

Quote:

Dear Wendy,

Thank you for your e-mail inquiry regarding your Canvas background
stamp. We apologize that you received your background stamp short in
size. We will be happy to send you a replacement. Unfortunately, we are
unable to complete your correction or resolve this situation via e-mail.
Please contact your demonstrator and have her contact our Demonstrator

Thank you again for your e-mail. We hope this information is helpful. If

Now I'm confused. I have 3 background stamps: canvas, filigree, and paisley. I just measured them, and they are all exactly 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. Isn't this the standard size?

Thanks for the proper measurements. I had the "little" one. I called the support number and at first was told that since I had already used it they wouldn't exchange it. I replied that because it was cut short it was defective. After being put on hold I was told that yes they would exchange it. I would have to have my demo call and they would take it from there. Again, thanks to all of you for bringing this to my attention!

Stampin Up is so awesome. I contacted my demo about the canvas stamp I have being the wrong size and sent her the email that they sent to me about the replacement and she called them about it and my new one is going to be coming in the mail very shortly.

Thanks everyone for the posts about the canvas stamp.

Stampin Up is the best.

They did just agree to replace my rubber too!! I had to wait while he spoke to a supervisor (his request...not mine), but he came back with the error correction. Cool!!! The size issue was my biggest irk with that BG stamp. Now I have to find something else to complain about!!!! LOL!!!

I just checked my Canvas, Just Jeans and Paisley, and they each measure 5.5x4.5.....does this mean that all 3 of these are "defective"??? I haven't used them yet.............have any of you measured your Paisley or Just Jeans??? I would be interested to know if yours are the smaller size also.

kamart- Mine was too small to cover a card front- 4.25x5.5, so I think yours is probably okay. They replaced minesince I ordered mine during the mini catalog time frame. If you ordered yours during the mini catalog time, they were all cut too short and you should be able to get a replacement. You need your order number for them to be able to tell you.

I just heard back from my demo. SU said that if my canvas background stamped at least 1/4" less than 5.5 they would replace it. Well, mine is less than the 5.5 but not by 1/4". I am unable to completely cover the front of a card (just a little strip is left undone). It sure isn't the 5 3/4" they stated in the catalog. I did buy it in March, maybe this is the big size.
