Hi Everyone!
Could any of you tell me what kind of stuff you might put into a Smores kit?
I have seen some really cute packaging ideas, and just wondered what people are putting into them. Thanks a bunch.

Well, what I have put in mine are all ideas I have gleaned off of this great site. My kits are for 6 people to have 1 smore each. I put a package of graham crackers, 3 hershey bars all wrapped in decorative paper and tied with ribbon. I also add a cello bag filled with marshmallows and a small terra cotta dish (like the ones on the bottom of the pots) filled with tea lights and tied with ribbon. I also put in 6 wooden skewers tied together with ribbon. I then put the tag -Indoor S'more's Light the candles, toast the mallows sandwich with chocolate and grahams. Wishing your family a wonderful Christmas and so much s'more! This is fun because you really can toast the mallows with the little tealights.
I saw a s'mores kit in K-Mart that had hot chocolate, chocolate bars, graham crackers and marshmallows. It was in a paint can-type container, and I though, hey, I could do that It's a really cute idea. I like the idea of putting the candles and stuff in for toasting too.
Orchard Supply carries "new" empty paint cans - 2-3 sizes at our store. I think Chinese Take-Out would be great. Stampendous has "clear" paint pails - I picked up several and will fill with cookies and goodies. Cindy
A year and a half ago I made the cutest little mini indoor smore kits. I put two quarters of one honey graham cracker, one little Hershey bar (not a miniature or a nugget, these look like little candy bars and they are about the same size as a quarter graham cracker) and 3 miniature marshmallows in a resealable bag (could use a cello). I stamped a topper using Roughing It's fire and marshmallow stick and included directions in it (place choc and mini marsh on one cracker and microwave for 10 secs, top with other cracker and enjoy). It was a HUGE hit.
Oh, I forgot to say I put Liquid Applique on the stamped marshmallow image. It is still one of my favorite projects of all time. There's just something about a s'more that makes people smile.

Please make sure they are unscented! I accidently used a scented one in a smores craving fit once...LOL! Not the best tasting when it has a hint of freesia hehehehehe
One night my daughter and I were craving s'mores but didn't have the campfire so we hauled out the yule log from Partylite, stuck some unscented tea lights in the candle holes and roasted our marshmallows in the living room while watching "Freaky Friday". Everytime we see the yule log we laugh at our invention and remember what a fun time we had that night. P.S. Caramellow candy bars are great in s'mores.
I think you would be able to find skewers around or near the barbecue stuff in Wally World or a grocery store. I know we have gotten them for bbq's (shrimp, veggies, etc) and now will have to get them to add to my craft collection for these adorable s'mores kits!!! Definitely a project for next years list!
A friend of mine wanted some little cute presents for her daughters Preschool teachers, I made the Smore kits. i put mini hershey candy bars, graham crackers, and marshmellows in a Mason jar, put some decorative stickers on the Jar, wrapped some pretty ribbons around the jar and I was done!
Last Easter, I made a Spring S'mores bucket. (I personally don't like the paint cans. Just a personal preference for my own lack of ability in achieving a final look that I'm satisfied with. It's not an indictment of what others are able to do with them.)
Anyhow - I made them with Peeps. Which means that this project would probably would have remained an Easter-only thing, had I not noticed this year at JoAnns that they now make Peeps for *every* holiday under the sun. I even bought chocolate-flavored Peeps in the shape of cats for Halloween! I also used the small-sized individual Hershey bars for "filler" in the bucket.
Anyhow, the first link is to see what the "bucket" looked like. I bought that at Target. The second link is to see the tag which gives the directions to make the S'mores. They're adapted from a paint-can version mass-produced and sold at Target.
