there's also polar white flower soft! it's really soft, shimmery, and kind of see through, looks great over patterned paper or plain. I also use snow-tex, liquid applique, and stickles too! It just depends on the look you want for your cards, try 'em out and see what you like best!

twinklets diamond dust on top of glossy accents (more of an icy finish than actual snow)...have the polar white flower soft...bought it last year...just haven't used it yet!
I have used white liquid applique, white flock and white flower soft- all these give great texture and appearance on cards for snow. Adding some stickles or glitter to it also great. I have been known to add glitter to my flower soft or flock before placing it on cards.
you could also use styrofoam rubbed together to make a dust a cheap may of making
flower soft I will be using it on some of my christmas cards this year.
easy and inexpensive snow:
rub two pieces of white styrofoam together....it shreds. toss the large clumps and sprinkle the "snow" on to tacky glue or a good clear glue. gently pat the snow into the glue and let dry.
here's a card with "styro-snow" on it, a bit of clear glitter helps too, seems to stick to the styrofoam

This is exactly what I do too! It looks so real! Your card is very cute!
If it is not "transparent" looking snow that you are looking for,
try shredding pure white paper on a stand-up type cheese grater....
it works beautifully and is much on the same line as flower fluff, but much cheaper since you can use scraps to do this with. The credit for this singing reindeer card goes to Jackie Topia who is the "QUEEN" of punch art in my eyes.
I make snow by making flocking. I put white paper scraps in a hand held coffee grinder and whirl away until its the consistency I want. You could also use a cheese grater, but then you'll get larger chunky snow. The coffee blender really does a great job to get it so that it looks and feels just like flocking. You could also do this for any colour. I plan on using it with red scraps to make Santa's suit a fur suit and using brown scraps for fur for the reindeer. The added benefit is that you use up all those tiny bitty scraps you can't do anything else with.
I usually use the flower soft or the liquid applique, depending on the look I'm going for. Several years ago, I used Snow Tex, and I saw in the craft ads this weekend they have a snow pen out now. I wish I could be more specific-- I just remember it being in the ads. It looked like a marker.

I got the snow pen, just out of curiosity. It's called Snow Marker, made by Marvy (I got mine here: Zig Posterman Markers, Chalk Board Markers, Prismacolor Art Markers - MarkerSupply.com). The effect is like Liquid Applique, but not as thick, a little easier to control in the pen form (3mm bullet point) than the squeezy tube. I haven't used it on anything I've posted yet, but it does work!
Another fan of shredding styrofoam here! Plus I put some in a ziploc baggie, add reinker, and have my own colors of flower soft knock-off!

I love the styrofoam idea and flower soft is gorgeous!
I've been making snow from card stock. Since you can make it in any color to match your card stock it works great for fur too or anything else you want fuzzy. Here's a short tutorial Addicted to Stamping: Faux Snow Tree
There are a ton of great ideas here...thanks ladies! My favorite has to be Our Craft Lounge Sparkly Fluff, but I also like Martha Stewart glitters: crystal coarse, snow, or mica flake. Good old liquid applique works great too.
Love the texture of the shredded CS - thanks for the tutorial. I'll be trying that also!

Okay, now I have paper cuts and shredded knuckles. Think I'll stick with shading with my aqua painter and adding Dazzling Diamonds. Sometimes liquid applique and Dazzling Diamonds gives me the best effect. But I still love all the ideas I pick up on Splitcoast.
