Spring Catty Flower Punch TROUBLE. HELP!!

Hello, I have never asked a question in here like this before. But am frustrated and couldn't find it anywhere else.
I have the new flower punch and it works so hard. I have punched threw wax paper until my fingers are waxy. It still doesn't punch easy. It is all I can do to punch it. Any suggestions, tried and true techniques to make it punch easier on me???? HELP!!
Thanks, I know my punch saviour is out there somewhere.

Hmmm. I haven't had any problems with mine. Maybe you (or your demo) needs to contact demo support?

Yeah, I agree, mine is fine. It could be that you got a defective one.

Smile I feared that!

You know that was my first thought after I wax paper punched for hours. Thanks. Gives me a good hand work out, but makes me not want to use it. Will call my demo. thanks again

I used my demo's and hers was very hard to punch also. I think it is because there is so much more metal, and less empty space? I had to use 2 hands to punch it. The punches turned out really nice, but it is not as easy as the other SU punches I have used.

I just had another thought. It may depend on what you're punching with it. I've only punched out vanilla and white SU CS that I had stamped on and it may be harder with the colored CS.

Mine is hard to punch also! I have to use 2 hands, it is brand new so I don't know if it gets better, I used it on white CS.

This wouldn't surprise me since the white and vanilla are not as thick, plus the smoothness might actually help the punch blade slide right through!

Mine is much harder to use than other SU punches. Doesn't matter if I am punching white, colored, whatever. I really like the finished product though!

Stampin Up has explained that this is not a defect with the punch, it is because the largest daisy flower is so detailed that it is just harded to punch. They recommend turning it upside down to you can see where you are punching and squeezing just enough to hold your paper, then turn overand use both hands to punch, or place on the table and push down to punch. Hope this helps!

I had trouble with my punch also. I saw on another thread here to try punching through foil. I did that and also punched through wax paper. Also, I used it on just plain paper, not cardstock. It finally got so that it worked better. It seems to work better now and I can punch the cardstock easier. HTH

Mine is tough also, but I noticed that if I'm only punching the 2 small flowers, it's much easier. So I think it's tough because of the detail of the daisy.

My demo did explain this too me, but her's did not stamp this hard. I gave it to my husband last night and said fix it. He tried to punch it too, and said OMG no way. I can't. That doesn't work right. He fixes everything for me too. I tried punching just on white c/s hoping it was just the colored. NOPE. And I do try to squeeze it just enough to turn over to push down. But I am either not strong enough or just not cordinated enough to do this, cause the paper always moves. Now if you were just punching would be fine, but if you are trying to line up for the flowers you are punching out of stamped image. A little movement is a lot. GRRRR feeling stupid. I hate that. My kids do that enough to me as it is. Stamping shouldn't.

I'm sorry yours is so hard to punch! Maybe you can try the foil/wax peper method and see if it helps? Otherwise call your demo and see if she can get a replacement one, it shouldn't be THAT hard! Sorry again and good luck!

I really think you should get a replacement or just return it. I do not think that should be a problem.

It punches very easily with pattern paper but it is difficult to punch cardstock with it.

Have you tried Bee's Wax? Its sold in fabric stores or quilting stores. I read on one of the stamping web sites how that helps.

one last try

Ok I haven't tried the foil. So will give that try, and I haven't done the bee's wax. That is totally a new thing, never heard that one. Not so sure I want to go to that trouble if I am not sure it will work. :( Anyone else out that done this and had success??? the bees wax thing that is? Just curious.
I have a stampers 10 group tomorrow so I am going to take it to that and ask everyone else who got it too.
Thanks AGAIN ALL!
