Default Spring Mini

Does anyone know where I could see the contents of the Spring Mini? I'm new to SU and I'm not sure how/where/when I would get one. I asked my demo and she said she thought one might get mailed to me but I haven't received one.

Also, does anyone know when I might be able to order something from it? I'd like to get a set to make Easter cards (Easter is on March 27th, yikes!) and I would need to get it very soon.

Lastly, there are already cards in the gallery from this set. How have others already gotten these?

Thanks!

As of now the spring mini is only available to demonstrators to see and order from. Those who have already gotten them and made cards are demonstrators who preordered and received their sets. (We were able to preorder at the beginning of February.) Customers may order from the mini on March 1st.

Default Pics of the sets

Great, thanks. Is there any way to see pics of the sets now? And how do I ensure I get the mini catalogs going forward?

Thanks again!

As of now there is not a way to see these sets unless you could talk to your demonstrator and see if she will let you look at her catalog. I don't understand the other part of your question.

Do the minis get sent to customers or are they only sent to Demonstrators?

My Demo lives very far away, 2+ hours, and I don't see her very often. We pretty much communicate by phone.

If the only way to see a mini catalog is having it shown to you by a Demo then I'm hosed because I won't see mine

There's only one EAster set in the spring mini and I have a good suspicion that it's going to be hard to get in time to do anything with if you don't order on March 1st. With the new promo coming and Spring Into Action, there will be some serious shipping delays in March. I would pick a set from the current catalog if your heart is set on making Easter cards. Your demo should have the catalog, but you won't automatically get one if she didn't select you to receive one. They don't come to everyone that's ordered, your demo has to pay for you to get one. I would push her to let you see the easter set so you can order it on the first.

Is Spring Into Action the 50% off sale?

That stinks, my demo lives far away and I don't see her (she became my demo because she is a friend of a friend).

Well, I guess I'll just view the gallery and let my imagination make the decision.

Thanks.

Julie, you can always view the current mini on the SU website: www.stampinup.com. It is always put up on the first day it can be ordered from. The Spring mini will be up March 1. As far as receiving one on a regular basis, you will have to request that from your demo...see if she'll be able to do that for you.

IF you are in the habit of ordering lots of stuff, maybe think about signing up as a demo yourself! That way YOU"LL be ahead of the rest of the buying public since you'll be seeing (and ordering) in advance! Somethin' to think about...

Hugs,
Betsy

Thanks for that tip. That helps a lot.

I into stampin' - BIG - have spent A LOT $$$$ (read thousands :o) in the last 8 weeks, becoming a demo has crossed my mind but I'm just not there yet.

I don't feel like I'm good at anything other than the basics - I'm need some technique boosters. I am attending some classes and camps over the next few weeks so just maybe... DEMOing may be in my future!!

Kymbers is correct about receiving the mini. I agree that if you want an Easter set you should go ahead and order one now from the IB&C. There is only one Easter set in the mini and I am not that impressed. You will be able to see the spring mini on the stampin'up website to view, but not until March 1st.

This is the only Easter Set.

And I'm not sure why none of us thought about it, there's a Spring Mini gallery. You can check out the samples in there and get an idea of the sets to come.

You're all awesome. Thanks so much~

The gallery has helped me narrow down the sets I think I'll like in the mini. I'll be sure to check out the SU website on 3/1.

Thanks!!

p.s. some of the mini sets are posted on eBay... I just bought an inkpad/ marker/ribbon lazy susan organizer from a Demo whose DH builds them and was checking on my purchase...

some eBay sellers have posted the mini sets, I wouldn't buy those from eBay - that's what my demo is for - but if anyone is extra curious you can at least see pics of the sets posted there

The whole ebay thing is sad because you know those people are demos.

To answer your question, demonstrators are able to preorder sets from the mini catalogs so that they can experiment with the stamps and prepare samples for their customers. This way they are ready to go when the mini becomes available to customers.

** This is in response to the infamous eBay **

Yes, I've discussed that with my demo and quickly realized it is a sore subject, to say the least.

Personally, if I'm spending money on SU products I want CREDIT for it so I can buy more!!!

When I was searching for my lazy susan caddy (I was looking for something that did more than SU's caddy) I was surprised to see people paying more for sets than their published price in the Big Book.

To each his own I guess, but, YES, I believe in loyalty towards my Demonstrator.

Justjulier, your demo is probably having a Spring mini sent out to you directly from SU - I don't think those have gone out yet. Otherwise she'll have to wait until she gets her supply order of them and mail one to you directly.

Enjoy!

Justjulier - girl you need to sign on to become a Demo! Trust me... I just now did it after being a customer for THREE YEARS! I could just kick myself for not doing it sooner!

You have a big boost by knowing about SCS - you can learn so many new things here!

I don't make any money being a Demo because I work full time and it's mostly a hobby for me but I love, love, love my discount, getting the mini-catalogs early and all the inside "scoop".

My quarterly minimum is easily met between myself and a couple of other stampers that are my loyal customers. Go for it - if it doesn't work out you aren't obligated in any way, shape or form.

Good luck in your decision and Happy Stamping!!

You know TJStamper, you've got me seriously considering this. Thanks for the great support. I also work fulltime - and I guess I just haven't considered it the way you did. I was thinking of it as such a commitment and really, between my orders and a few friends here and there, I could probably do okay.

I am going to look into this, if anyone has any info to share about becoming a DEMO please pass it along.

Perhaps I'll start another thread...

Thanks!

p.s. food for thought, as a new DEMO am I obligated to sign up under my current DEMO? :? My current DEMO lives very far from me and this has proven to be a challenge - she became my DEMO because she is a friend of a friend. Recently I've met/communicated with 4 or 5 people (some DEMOs, some just enthusiastic stampers) that live in my area to attend camps and/or join clubs because my DEMO and I aren't able to get together.

I'm thinking one of those women might be a better upline for me since we would be able to coordinate - but I certainly don't want to alienate my current DEMO. Dilemna, help!?

Default Spring Mini

Just the fact that you are asking the question regarding your demonstrator is cause for concern.
My experience as a demonstrator has been hampered by my demonstrator. Mostly after I signed up, she deserted me. She is quiting. You have a wonderful opportunity to interview and make a wiser decision regarding who you sign up under. I have made many friends through stamping but my upline became distant. I hope this helps.

I was lucky that other demonstrators befriended me and helped me along the way. You can make it without demonstrator support but you really want to do it with someone who you want as a friend and someone that is supportive.

Good Luck
Laura

Great points Laura! Thanks for the advice. That helped a lot. I will do as you suggested and interview perspective uplines. If/when I'm ready to make that commitment I do know that I want a personal and mutually beneficial relationship with my upline, that would be quite important to me.

Thanks!!

justjulier, if you are really spending thousands of dollars already, you should definitely sign up. even if you don't feel ready to teach anyone else yet, you can still order from yourself while you learn some new techniques and then it's a tax deduction as well. nobody says "you've signed up and now you must teach 100 complete strangers in the next 30 days".

justjulier, Do sign up!
If you sign up now, you receive:
Sincere Salutations, free, this set is from the 2005 - 06 catalog
A free set you get to pick from the IB&C

Sincere Salutations is being offered through March 31. The free set may only be through the end of SAB.
A kit valued at $347.00
You are not required to sell anything until the next quarter starts
only a $300 minimum
anything you sell this quarter counts toward your minimum next quarter
business booster kit for new demos
Stampin' success Magazine each month packed with ideas
access to demo only side at SCS

When I do workshops I find it is best to do basic cards in my demo. I show cards stepped up with embellishments, or a unique background technique to interest the more experienced stampers. I tell them if they want to learn a technique I will hold a class for $5.00 or $10.00 depending on materials. Then I am not doing a long demo that maybe everyone is not interested in. The average customer seems to want quick and cute over anything time consuming.

I've never understood why people pay more for new non-retired products on eBay!! :? I've even seen some people who buy used products that are still being sold in the catty for the same price as it is sold new.

It makes no sense, I feel bad for them, poor things, and all the benefits that they aren't able to take advantage of... :(
