Default Stamp A Ma Jig ??

I'm thinking that I may need a Stamp A Ma Jig but I'm not sure I completely understand its purpose. I have individual alpahbet stamps will the Stamp A Ma Jig help me to line up the individual stamps to make a word? I'm confussed on what the Imaging Sheets are for. I'm sure this is a silly question but I want to make sure I have a purpose for this before I purchase it. Thanks in advance for all the help.

The Stamp-A-Ma-Jig is for lining up stamps. I don't have one yet (it'll be purchased soon..), but my reason for buying one is for my alphabets. It just kind of helps to line things up easier..
The imaging sheets are just in case you have a large stamp and a small piece of paper. They protect your workspace.
Hope I explained it correctly.. Maybe another (more experienced) demo can help?

If you look at the latest entry in my blog, you'll see that I used the stamp ma jig to line up the words "totally" and "kind" -- I didn't succeed 100%, but I am really trying to improve the quality of my cards and little things, like lining up the letters to make a word or words to make sentences or phrases really takes it up a notch. It is very much worth the price.

I use mine to make sure I have the backgrounds straight on a page, too! Since I've been using it with bg's, finally my cards don't look nearly as crooked!

i was the same way .. i didn't know what it was for but i ordered it just in case. Then my SIL, who's now my upline, showed me how it worked and i haven't stopped using it since. i guess some people are naturally good at lining up stamps but i'm not one of those. i use it for bg's, letters, two-step stampin' .. Lots of reasons. Trust me, you will use it and you will love it!

I couldn't live without mine now. Took me awhile to be confident with it but now I can put a face on a pumpkin and add a stem (Carved and Candlelit) without any guess work. Stems on flowers, no problem. Always have straight sentiments. This tool is priceless!

it took me almost 3 years to buy mine, but I have a feeling it will soon be at the top of my "must have" list - I just got mine the other day and have yet to play...but have tons of ideas in my head for combining sentiments, etc. to make cool new phrases. I'd get it - you won't regret it! ;)

I had mine for the longest time and just used it for the first time on a swap I did for "A Light Heart". I had stamped 3 of the hearts straight across and wanted them aligned perfectly. The other thing I find that they are great for is if your stamp is mounted a little off then use the stamp-a-ma-jig so you can straighten it out. I don't know if anyone has a secret to mounting your stamps perfectly everytime.

I lost the clear part that you stamp on to line your stamp up - I tried using a transparency but the ink just seems to smear on it... any other ideas?

You can purchase refill image sheets through Stampin' Up. I haven't seen the refills at any of the big box stores.

I know Stampin' Up! sells the 'refill sheets' for the Stamp-a-ma-jig. This is an awesome tool: you can stamp EXACTLY where you want to stamp. FIRST you must position the handle/tool exactly at the CORNER of your clear plastic piece. NEXT, ink your stamp and stamp onto the clear plastic and stamp, being sure that the stamp is snugly positioned into the corner of the handle/tool. NOW, remove your stamp and move that stamped image which is on the clear plastic piece...move that plastic piece to where you want your stamped item on your cardstock. Then position that handle again onto the corner of that plastic piece. Lastly, REMOVE the stamped clear plastic piece, but do not move that handle. Ink your stamp again and use that handle/tool as your guide for where to exactly place your stamp and stamp your image. VOILA - perfecto!!
