We could have a relay of sorts...where you start on a project then when the time is up (whatever time amount you determine), you leave that project and move onto the next...the person that come in behind you will continue to work on your project (adding their little touch) and so on. You could make it interesting by cutting the time down to a minute or say, 1.5 minutes, then ding a bell and everyone moves on to work on whatever the person didn't finish before...is this making any sense? Not sure how the projects would look, but it sure would be a hoot...lol. I picture a bunch of frantic women running from station to station (with maybe a little stunt they have to complete before they get to their next station...like um, cutting something out, or something else silly. You could even do this in teams, like a true relay.

Lets see how about..... 1) blindfold stamping. Everything is in a box bottom, c/s pieces, stamps, ink. Without being able to see, you have to guess which stamp gets stamped on the pieces of c/s provided and then layer your card up. 2) Stamp the tail on the donkey or adapt it to whatever image (stamp the flower middle part, whatever it's called) 3) stack the stamps, whoever stacks the tallest stamps before it falls over 4 ) another blindfold idea: have 5-10 stamps, just by feel alone you have to guess the image, not sure if this would be hard to do or not, have never tried it,lol
Can you tell I worked in an Activities Dept before, lol

I've always been fascinated with the biathlon at the Winter Olympics.... Ski cross country while carrying a rifle, stopping every now and then for target practice.
Stampers could first make cards, then run around the auditorium stopping every now and then to shoot holes in the cards of their opponents. On second thought, it probably wouldn't work.... no cards left at the end.
Maybe not shoot, but we could wing spit balls at them...lol

Joni~ Some of these sound like fun! You go girl! KEEP 'EM COMING LADIES!
OOH I just thought of something while I was putting away my spots...
We could do one that we have to put the colors together that go in the sets of 12...But then I thought that would be WAY too easy for most of us...So, How about doing the same idea except for stamp sets...You know the sets that have funny little stamps in it that make you wonder what their purpose is...
I think if we have several sets laid out on the table and had to put them back together as a complete set...now that would be fun and funny...I have a hard time keeping up with mine sometimes especially since I have so many to choose from! LOL
Ok I am just idea central today...not sure how cheesy or popular they will be once I type 'em but oh well...I can at least share and let you gals be the judge...
Instead of Pictionary...Stampionary (draw a stamp & guess it, this could be a team effort)
What about guess that set? (this could be fun but time consuming to prep for)
Umm...Let me consult my list of games...I think it being Stampin Olympics like someone suggested earlier having games similar to the "real games" would be cool!
Tracy, Your ideas made me think of BINGO !!!!!! Each person would get 1 Bingo card with stamped images, fill the card and yell out STAMPO ! I would be willing to make the BINGO game cards and pieces. Not sure how they make sure not to duplicate the same card but if we had multiple winners who cares. I would even bring the gift prizes for this 1, let me know.
Team play : All I can think of is passing a small stamp that is on a popsicle stick to the next player on your team.
Using the words Stampin Up (or any other stamping related words), see how many other words you can make out of it using only those letters. Kinda cheesy and not really crafty, but that is all I can do right now!!
My 2 cents: I like the idea of having a station where you sort through a box of stamps to put them back in their original containers. I also like the relay - team sport - idea. One person starts the card with the card base, then the next player adds an element, then the next person adds one element. They cannot discuss the card and their hopes for the outcome. Then the team cards are judged. I like the name that stamp set by the image. We can have a poster board up with numbered images. Everyone writes down their answers on pieces of paper. What about a cutting contest. Each person is given a piece of paper with several measurements listed on it. They will be timed how fast they can cut out all of those pieces.
Just some late night thoughts before watching Grey's Anatomy.

Oh how sweet Heaven sounds when you have sent a loved one there.
Great ideas girls! Some of these are sounding pretty good. So... if some are close to their Olympic counter-part does that mean.. instead of javelin we throw craft and rubber scissors? lol sorry, couldn't resist a funny! Right this minute I am having trouble even thinking of the actual Olympic events! lol long day! This is really helping me! Keep up the good work! PLEASE?!

Team sport. This might take a little lead time for teams to prepare. Synchronized Stamping! You could award extra points for flair and of course how closely the finished cards match. They could stamp to some music to keep their timing.
I just had this thought. Tell me what you think.
Something like a triathalon or decathalon.
You start with a bin full of mixed up stamps. You have to find all of the pieces to a set. Box it. Take it to the next station. Pick up a sample card. Go to next station did through scraps for the right colored pieces to re-create card. Next stop. Dig for correct ink pads. Carry all to next stop. Stamp pieces. Next stop adhere. Next stop find correct embellishments... etc. sound any good? Am I on the right track? I like the idea of having to hunt stuff down and then use it before going to the next stop. Kinda like Nic's Double Dare.

That would take a while...You may have to shorten that one just a bit depending on how layered the card is...etc...But still it sounds like fun.
I am still liking some of the same ideas as Randi...We are two peas in a pod so to speak...or so it seems...;)
I also love Kathy's synchronized stamping...what else? there are so many now...Oh and Joni's Bingo would be fun too...Come on ladies give her some more to choose from!
Glad you liked my idea. As I was going to sleep last night I was imagining some wild routines which included butt stamping! lol. I started to think about how I would choreograph something. It would have to be a fairly simple card, done in about 5 minutes. Then I got this crazy picture in my head thinking about synchronized swimmers - how they march up to the edge of the pool and they are all done up - that merged with stampers walking up to a table with swim caps on. I must have been dreaming at that point. Good thing I was in bed or I would have rotflmao.
Today's is gymnastics! You'll need 3 judges for these events.
Balance Beam - 'Athletes' stand on a beam (brick) while making their card.
Rings - Participants hold a ring in each hand while making a card.
Floor exercise - Participants move around a mat (square table) making their card. Each side of the table has a different function and they can only do one thing at each. i.e. side 1 - stamp one thing, side 2 - punch/cut one thing, side 3 - adhere one thing, side 4 - color one thing? They keep moving until their card is complete.
Judges have two functions: They can deduct points for OOPses. Subtract 1 pt for falling off the beam. Subtract one pt for not holding the ring. Subtract one pt for doing more than one thing at the table, etc. The judges would also judge! Two seperate categories: the first - creativity, the second - technical merit (average these two for a final mark). Judges would give points based on how the card turns out.
Lynn,
Your brain being stuck in Olympic mode is my gain! LOL These are fantastic! I may need you to be a judge! How about a trip to St. Louis this summer? Feel free to let your brain keep sticking! I'm taking notes!
Thanks,
Carla

How about Card by memory? You could make up a card ahead of time, teams or individuals get say 60 seconds to look at it, and then you cover it up or take it away. Then they have to recreate the card without getting another chance to look at it. First person complete & accurate wins.
Well, actually, I will be in Chicago for the month of July That's where I grew up! My Grandma is 95 and we are having a birthday party for her.
How about an Equestrian event (obstacle course)? Everyone makes a horse card. They start and complete step 1 (at a table). However, to get the next step they have to overcome an obstacle (hurdle). Complete step 2 and then run around a barrel before moving on to step 3. Complete step 3 and hop walk, jump two hurdles and move to step 4 and so on depending on how many steps are needed to complete the card. To make this competitive, you could time each participant on how long it takes to complete the course.
Karen, that sounds like fun too! Won't that memory part boggle some minds!!
Lynn, I like your equestrian idea too!
You girls are on a roll!! I am writting all of these ideas down. I don't know how I will choose. I may have to set up a poll and let the participants choose. I don't think I can do it by myself!!! lol
Lynn, I guess you'll just have to come down to St. Louis for a couple of days! Only about 5 hour drive. You can do it!

It sounds like you have lots of ideas, so I'll give you a last one to mull over (only because I think it would be a hoot).
Have a hockey game! Each team has five players (no goalies). Each team plays on their own rink (table). Each player tries to complete a card and then take their card to the goal (basket). If a player completes their card they can go back and help the other players.
Here's the catch: There's only one puck (SNAIL). Players must pass the puck to each other using a mini hockey stick (they're about 1 ft in length). Teams compete to make the most cards (could be ties). A period in hockey is twenty minutes, a game is three periods - so each player could make three cards in one game.
Penalties: If the puck lands on the floor, all play stops for one minute. If there's fighting over the puck, all play stops for a minute. If they pass it without their stick, play stops for a minute.
I'm also thinking this could be adapted easily for basketball and maybe even baseball!
Ok, there you have it! Hope you have a great event!!! Would love to hear how it goes, I think I'll be in NC with dh on the 22nd - he has meetings :( I'll be shopping
