I've just read all 7 pages of this thread. You girls are cracking me up. I'm just 30 or so miles away and was thinking of heading down, too. I'm glad you gals told me about the sale at Marco's, too. I'm less than 10 miles from there.

Good idea!!! I had a hard time with that at Stampfest.
:lol: they have them at one particular vendor but everyone is waiting for someone to put one down so they can snatch it...you know how impatient women can be!!!! just easier to bring your own!

So what's the need for cash at the convention? Do most vendors take cash only or accept credit/debit cards? Trying to gauge how much cash to take with me. I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of a s*&^ load ought to do it! ;)

The only need for cash is a budget ;) (or you don't use credit cards, like me)
Actually, there are sometimes vendors who do not take credit cards. I've had to leave behind some cool stamps before because I did not have cash. That was a couple of years ago, but there might be a smaller co. that has neat stuff and no credit card machine.

at least the building is AC'd but with all those stampers in there I'm sure it will have a hard time keeping up!! at least it is suppose to be somewhat cooler than the weekdays have been... I should be 98 pounds with all the sweat I've been pouring!! ugh!

Just popping in between activities on this busy day to say that I'm getting giddy with excitement! I've got directions printed and I'm calling Barb tomorrow. I can't believe it's actually time!!!!!!!!

It opens at 9 and I'm 1 hr. and 45 minutes away but I don't know if I need to plan to be there before doors open due to lines to get in and parking. Does anyone know? I sure don't want to stand outside a long time in this weather!

We've never had to worry about lines... think we usually get there after 9 and can walk right in. In the past we've been pretty lucky at finding parking spots right next door or so. At least saturday isn't looking to be tooo hot! lol

I was just in Archivers (in Mason) this afternoon and they were talking about how busy they will be because of the Stampaway Convention. They said they were really busy last year and planned ahead this time.
I am hoping to make it over on Saturday or Sunday after church.
So I'm thinking that if I leave here at 7 tomorrow morning, I should be rolling in sometime between 9 and 9:30 -- give or take a few minutes for getting lost at least once!

I almost forgot about the purple ribbon... I made a scallop punch name tag with purple gingham... totally clashed with what I was going to wear... so I changed my mind on clothes. :-D As long as I'm comfy, I'm happy. If I could get this Weight Watchers thing going steady, I wouldn't have to worry about being comfy in my clothes. :rolleyes:

Just checking in...can't wait for tomorrow! Just wanted to let you know that the temp is much cooler today only 92 and less humid. Tomorrow is suppossed to be 90. I still have to figure out what to take and find a ribbon. I don't want to carry around too much (bad neck and back) other than my purchases!! We should be there when it opens. Hope to see all of you.
