I have seen several threads at one time or another about various receipes for refilling your stampin mist but after 10 different searches and finding a million other topics, I decided to ask for help. I need to refill my Stampin Mist so I can clean my stamps and don't want to wait on an order from Stampin Up and I would actually prefer spending the money on paper or something else if I can make the solution from things I have in my house already.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

While I don't have the "recipe" for Stampin Mist, I'll tell you what I use that works perfectly. Water! And, I'm not kidding. I spent $$ buying various stamp cleaners, and then one day, when my bottle was half full, I filled it up with tap water and then kept refilling it. That was a year ago. Just make sure you are using a mist bottle of some type and spray lots. Let it sit for a minute. Even pigment ink comes off. Permanent ink, such as memories black, does not come off, but I don't care as long as it doesn't affect the ability of the stamp to stamp clean.
I hope this helps. Try it and save your money for stamps!!

Water does work, but I think you also need some type of conditioner to keep the rubber from cracking. My demonstrator recommended using the Stampin' Mist about every other time so the rubber didn't get all dried out. As far as the recipe, I don't know it either but would like to have it.

I use water mixed with a couple of drops of Melaleuca's Tough & Tender cleaner, or a couple of drops of baby shampoo. The Tough & Tender works great. I use the baby shampoo in a pinch, and I think it still works better than the Stampin' Mist.
I use "Awesome Cleaner", plain or orange sent , diluted 50:50 with water. Have been using this at least 2 yrs. no problems with my stamps. You can purchase this (12 or maybe even 16 oz) for $1. at Dollar Tree. Esp like the orange scent, and it is good around the house full strength for other cleaning duties.
There was a post on one of my yahoo groups that told how to make a stamp cleaner. My friend and I tried it and so far it is working great. It does a great job cleaning my stamps.
Use an empty hairspray bottle
Put in 3 TBS Body Spray (try something that smells good to you)
Fill the rest of the bottle with room temp water.
Add 4-6 drops of dish detergent (soap).
Replace cap and shake gently (just a little)
I spray on my scrub like normal. I still plan on using the Stampin' Mist at w/s.
HTH.

I have heard of people using diluted windex or 409. I don't know the percentage of dilution but it really cleans those stains.
I use baby wipes every once in a while. Make sure they are alcohol free.
I have stamped for 7-8 years and never used stamp cleaner until last year! None of the rubber is dry or cracked. FYI
On the link to the other thread posted above there was a couple recipes using glycerin. Where would you buy glycerin?
This is the recipe that sounded good to me:
Stampin mist recipe
mix in your small stampin mist bottle
one eyedropper full of glycerin with rosewater
one squirt of baby wash
fill with distilled water
this works great. You can add more baby wash if you like it sudsy.

It was a while ago, but I think I bought my glycerin at the drug store. This recipe does sound good to me too, but I'm not sure what "glycerin with rosewater" means. Mine just says glycerin. :? Linda

You can find glycerine in the soap making area of Michael's or Hobby Lobby. If you can't find it there, try the cake decorating aisle. Some people use it when coloring icing. I bought some there not too long ago to make bath salts. I think it was Wilton brand.
