Default Stampin Project for 9-11 yr olds

I'm going to be having a Stamp Camp for 9-11 year olds next month. Will probably charge about $5.00 and will supply materials and am hoping that someone (or several someones) have some super WOW projects that I can use for these guys. Something they can do without much frustration but that they would be real proud of. ((their moms comes to my house for stampin and I've been promising to do a Saturday just for them)). Any project ideas .

Thanks. - maxine

They can make Post-It Note holders using clear plastic 4" x 6" photo frames. The flat ones with magnets on the back are $1 each at Wal-Mart.

Just have them decorate a 4 x 6 piece of cardstock, then place it in the photo frame and adhere the back of the Post-It pad to the front of the frame.

Hope that makes sense! I can e-mail you a pic if you want.

Default 9 to 11 year olds

I did that for a class one time and they loved doing book markers. They also like doing the stamps under the marbles and magnets.

I teach 4th grade, and I let my kids stamp to make some X-mas gifts for their families. We made the large pebble magnets (each child put their photo under one of the pebbles, then stamped the rest)...

...AND they made the calendar that fits inside the zipdisk box! They did a great job! I cut overhead transparencies so that the calendar page was masked except for the rectangle on the top that they were to stamp. I clipped the page and the mask overlay together on a legal-sized clipboard...worked great and I could quickly help the kids switch pages to put under the mask. They stamped the image(s) onto the rectangle, then used a sponge to pounce on a background color. The kids cut the pages apart by themselves and loaded them into the boxes. They were so proud of the calendars!

I agree that kids love bookmarks. Any kind of a bag topper/treat bag would be fun, too.

Kids that age are great and I find that my students just love and appreciate anything they get to do. They're easy to please, have good fine motor skills, and some of them are downright good little artists!

One thing that I did with my Stars Club is we made cards for the wounded soldiers. The girls loved that because they were helping others you might want to let each one make a card for that to. It made mine feel so good.
They could make earing holders using cd discs. You cut circles for the center, drill holes for earings hand held ones work great and the kids can do it. Then using stazon they stamped little flowers on the disc. My girls love this one.

I just did something similar for my neighbors. Bookmarks, tumbled tile coaster (I had stamped a butterfly so it was dry when they came and they just colored it with Sharpies), a couple cards that I demonstrated and they made up (I'd do Valentines right now), and then give them each three sheets of paper and a few stamp sets and let them create.

They were really quick - so I needed the extra flex time to keep them busy. I just gave them each a brown paper bag and had them decorate that to put in their treasures.

And, of course cookies.

Notebooks are good too! Small legal notebooks - I did a Back to School stamp camp. The girls stamped the front cover of the notebooks with the Girlfriend and Girlfriend Accessories stamp sets and colored them in with colored pencils. They also make matching pens. Domino magnets and post-it note holders were also included. Lots of fun!

My 10 year old was just playing around with the Mon Ami set and shrink plastic. She made earrings with red, black and white beads and the fish hook looking things you can buy at the craft store. The turned out really good - kids love shrink plastic. I have her punch a hole and then hold the shrink plastic with a stylus poked in the hole - she can't burn herself that way!

Don' have more than one ink pad at a station at one time - I learned this the hard way - they will stamp back and forth without cleaning the stamps.

Good luck!

What is a Stars Club? I have a Stamp Club, but I've never heard of this before.

I'm planning on offering a class in the spring / summer for children, but was curious to know if you all use kids pads and stamp sets or do you use your normal materials? I have no problem buying the kids pads (I think they are so cute), but wasn't sure about the best stamp sets to use. My class has the potential of being mixed pretty well with girls and boys.

One more question  . . . do you offer the class with a parent / adult guardian? I know some of the children I know would act up without their parents there, so I planned on having a buddy class. I'm not sure how much to charge. I normally charge $10 for a 2 hour class with adults, but I don't know what to charge a parent and child or what to charge for a parent with 2 children. Any suggestions ?!?

Thanks,
Myra

Stars club is part of Missionettes I'm the Coordinator at our church and teach the Stars group, 3rd - 5th grade (about 20+ girls) on Wensday nights.

use kids pads

I used them once the kids clean up better then when you use classic.
If you have young children must have adults, they need the help.
My kids love to stamp and be creative

Default thanks for help

wanted to thank you ladies for the help... I'm still debating what to do but have decided that I'll definitely have them do a card for wounded vets while they are here... Will let you know what we do and will post a picture of their creations.

thanks again.
