Default Stampin Up Blendibilities out of stock?

I thought it odd that the SU blendibilities are not listed in the online shoppng site, so I decided to place an order though a demo who told me they are back ordered and consequently SU is not accepting orders for blendibilities. I figured they'd be popular but I'm surprised that SU made a limited supply. I'm hoping they manufacture more because I want them all when they become available.

Anything new that a company comes out week is subject to selling out fast. A lot of people like or use copics and since these are cheaper, they might be selling because of that.

Maybe they just got a limited number to see if they would sell or not. Just my thoughts.

SU told demos over a month ago that Blendibilities would not be available when the catalog went live. They are hoping to have them available for customers to order at the end of June/beginning of July. They are hoping that by giving this extra time for them to build up their stock, they will avoid backorders.

My thought is that they wanted them listed in the catalog even though they knew they wouldn't be ready. Since the catalog was ready to roll they had to get them listed or wait for mini cattys. I think they probably should have waited for the minis and then add them to next years catalog, but I don't know beans about how all that works. Maybe anticipation is a good thing too! We'll all want them by the time they roll out!! I sure would like to give them a try!

They have the catalog done up like a year in advance or so. Sure, they make small tweaks here and there but most stuff is set. Sometimes their vendors can't make good on the deadline which seems to be what happened here. I think there were some quality issues early on and SU doesn't want to sell bad stuff so they sent them back to be fixed then it seems the vendor couldn't have enough ready for the start date and they didn't want them to go on back order forever. It's gotta be a tough call.

I think they do the best they can but crappy stuff happens :( I'm sad too as I wanted some of the other colors I couldn't pre-order but hopefully they will be ready soon! I'm sure they wish they could make all their own stuff so then they wouldn't have to rely on outside vendors!

And they are pretty cool IMHO. I'm not a good colorer or very artistic when it comes to coloring and I've played around with them and been happy with the results! I know I would never be good at copics and shading and figuring out what colors to use so the three shades of these help make it easier for me! I prefer a simpler solution to copics! I need to bust out my for the birds set and get to coloring! Maybe while I have my rummage sale this weekend I can color to pass the time!!!
