I have the bolds and they come in handy. I don't particularly like those colors, but it's good to have all of the colors on hand. I will probably break down and buy the whole classic pad set eventually - but until then, the spots are great!
Don't know about re-inking - I haven't had do, yet.
I have all 4 sets and I LOVE them! Yes, they can be reinked .
They are also handy if you want to ink a stamp with several colors--just take the pad to the stamp and put the ink right where you want it.
Another good point is that they are portable--I like to take mine with me when we go camping in our trailer, that way I can "play toys" while we are on vacation.
24 pads fit PERFECTLY in an empty SU box that is approx 8.75 x 6.5 (the boxes that stamps come in)
I have all 4 boxes. When I hosted my first show, I bought them all. They are a great way to start out & they are nice to have if you want to use more than one ink color on a stamp. I sell tons of them because it is a great way to get a lot of colors for not a ton of money. I just wish they made the craft pads in the spot size. I can't bring myself to buy all the big ones. You use the same re-inkers as the big pads. HTH Kendra
A good friend of mine has a great Word doc that has wonderful ideas and tips about the Stampin' Spots. I'll see if there's a place where I can post this.
I downloaded the Stampin' Spots tip sheet that my friend, Vickie Maduzia, sent me. This is a wonderful resource and tool! It's under "forums" in the downloads section.
O.K. I have been into forums could not find it. I went into resources and could not find it. Can some one just send it to me or give me better instructions for a beginner.javascript:emoticon('')
sorry, the document is posted in the demos-only area of the forums right now. if someone wouldn't mind re-posting it in another forum then anyone could get to it.
I love my Stampin' Up spots but unfortunately I'm not a demo and can't view the tip sheet either. I would really appreciate it if someone would repost it in another forum so the Stampin' Up user fans can see it as well.
Thank you so very much Cambria for posting the Spots tip sheet so us non demo people who are dedicated Stampin' Up fans can have a copy! I love scrapbooking as well and the Spots are perfect for it. They don't take up much room so I don't have to worry about not having a color with me. The tip sheet has many wonderful ideas on it and I can't wait to try a few out.
I love my stampin spots. I have them all! Its a great way to start off! It lets you get all the colors for not a ton of money, and then work on getting the craft pads. The only problem I've found with them ever is that when doing large background stamps... such as Just Jeans you have a huge area to cover and there is a large amount of raised area its not as evenly distributed across the stamp and you can see it when you stamp. I think it wouldn't be such a problem with something like the french script or things that just don't have as much.... "stamp" part? (for lack of a better way to describe that)
Anyways,
You can re-ink them, I did it anyways! Not sure if they say you can or not but it works fine.
ok, nevermind, duh. i only was reading the first page of posts so i figured it out except that i am a demonstrator but still did not have access. Is there something else i need to fill out to have this access?

Spots are wonderful!!!!
I have alot of scrapbookers buying them with their alpha sets. A great way to get 12 colors in a portable size. I also have alot of hostesses (especially first timers) that will get one set of spots and then a basic black so they have some colors to play with.
You can re-ink these like a normal ink pad, but be carefull not to over ink them, you can tell they need it when the surface of the pad looks lighter than the sides. Also you so have to watch these for stingy things that might fray off the sides of the little pad. IF you notice them trim them off, I had one sneak its way out of the plastic case and leave a decent spot of ink on my box, luckily I caught it before it made a huge mess!
OH yes, if you like to watercolor, keep a scrap of window sheet in the box with you spots and when ready to watercolor you can press the window sheet down onto the pad to pick up the ink like you would the lid of a clsssic ink pad.
Thank you so much Cambria, for posting this in an area where it can be seen by non-demonstrators. I really like Stampin' Up's products and am always on the lookout for more ideas to help me be a better stamper and this site has so many good ideas I sometimes don't know where to start!
I'm so glad to see so many people that are "for" the spots. I am on an email list that talked about spots one time and there was so many people against them. One girl asked if she had enough money to get two sets of spots or one set of regular size pads what should she do, most of the people told her to get the big sized pads???? I would of gotten the 2 sets of spots! More color choices. Anyway, I think it's a matter of personal choice, but you can do so much with the spots. Plus I LOVE my spots, I have three sets so far, still need the soft subtles, I wouldn't have the storage room for all four sets of the big pads!! SO I'm thankful that I have the option of the spots.
Anyway, thanks for letting me vent.
