Question stamping on painted wood...

I'm sure this has been answered before, but....I just found framed cork boards and framed half cork, half white boards at my local $1 store!!! They are at least a foot and a half long! They are perfect for a childs desk/room, etc... I scooped up a bunch hoping to paint the wood and stamp the cork...now, my question is....if I paint with acrylic paint...do I have to use Stazon ink to stamp on it or can I use classic ink? how about on the cork? any help would be appreciated!
TIA! Cathy

**Never mind, I found some posts relating to this subject!! I would delete this completely if I could, but it appears as though I can't!;)

You can use classic ink on painted surfaces - however it won't be as vibrant as the color...it will appear a few shades lighter - at least that has been my experience...

I did a bench and the back part I stamped the quote using black staz-on (and filled in the spots with black sharpie) and then I used a small flower stamp and classic inks to stamp flowers all around the quote.

I then used a hair dryer to heat set the ink - I don't know if that did anything but I thought what the heck couldn't hurt...

I then sprayed it with some Krylon Fixif - use very sparingly - light touch light coat - or else the colors can get a little fuzzy...looks great and withstands my kids grubby little hands...

I am hoping to test out some different inks - classic, chalk and stazon on painted surfaces and different sealents this holiday weekend as I have a table and chairs I want to stamp for my daughters but I don't want to use acrylic paint - I can never get good results with rubber stamps and acrylic paint...

as for the cork you probably need a really dark color depending on how dark the cork is...

I did little wood boxes that I spray painted white. I then embossed on tissue paper colored it in with pencils and applied it on to the box with decophage. It turned out cute. I would post a photo but they are somewhere in my childern's toy room! Good Luck. Post them when you are finished we would love to see how they turn out which ever way you do it!
