Default Stamping on Tin - Ink ?

I've found some cute little tin pails at Wal-mart's and am going to use them to fill for teacher gifts. Has anyone stamped on tin before? What type of ink do you recommend?

I've got blue staz-on. Which I know will work but I'm not thrilled with the color.

I tried stamping with craft ink and heat setting. It appeared to work. It did rub off with staz-on cleaner but I don't think the receipents will be trying to do that

What about using acrylic paint?

Anyone have any tips, hints or suggestions for stamping on tin?

Thanks

There is a primer for painting metal you can get. As for stamp pads, Brilliance is supposed to work on metal as well as StazOn. I think acrylic paint will work but you'd prob want to seal it. Um, there's a type of paint called Patio Paint, which is meant for outdoor use, that would work I imagine.

I used our craft ink and then sprayed with clear acrylic sealer

There is also a paint called "perm-enamel" in the glass section of Mike's etc. It will work on metal if you heat set it. BTW the Azure color of stazon is kinda teal, the Ultra Marine is much more like Brilliant Blue.
