Default Stamps for Birthday Calendar???

I'm doing birthday calendars for an upcoming craft day at my church. I'm doing the long kind from SU - if you haven't seen it, it's long and narrow and just has the dates with lines to write in the birthdays - like this:

1. _____________
2. _____________
3. _____________

So, it's a little different than most birthday calendars, but it's got quite a bit of space to fill up around the edges. I did one at another Demo's stamp camp and I thought it was such a great idea, but I don't have the same sets or inks that she does, so I'm trying to make it work with what I've got to work from. Also because it's a church thing, I can't charge much for it, so I can't really afford go out and buy a lot of new sets for just this project. Although I've got some demo friends who might be able to lend me a set or two. Anyway, here's what I've got so far:

Here's what I've got so far:

January: Various snowflakes
February: Happy Hearts
March: I'm trying to find Lucky Me or Kiss Me on Ebay
April: Spring Garden or I have a set with little umbrellas (for April showers)
May: Paint Prints?
June:
July: Stars & Swirls or the star from Mini Messages
August:
September: Will need to borrow Crayon Kids or some
other kid set for Back to School
October: Trick or Treat or the pumpkin from Little
Layers
November: Various leaves in different shades
December: Happiest of Holidays?? I don't know if I'm all that happy with this, but I don't have many Christmas sets

I would LOVE some suggestions or some pictures. Thanks!

Post We did this yesterday!

We did this yesterday for our Church's "Super Saturday" (Craft Day).
For June we used "Cute as a bug", but I think "Winged Things" would've been cuter. (Get it: "June Bug")

August: We did a Beach/Vacation Theme using Sparkling Summer.

Sept: We did clear (white) embossing with apples.

Jan. We used "All Bundled Up"

It was all pretty cute, but it was WAAAAAY overwhelming for the ladies there. Every card was a different technique. (Poppin Pastels, Embossing, Chalking, Embossing with 2 different Colors of EP, Stenciling, Masking, Colored Pencil Smudging, Pearl Ex, Dazzling Diamonds, and MANY MANY more. It was taking on average 5 HOURS to complete these silly calendars! It was RIDICULOUS!

To make a suggestion, please keep them simple. Most people want something fun and easy so they can feel like "I DID IT" when they leave. If they are frustrated the whole time, they'll never want to try stamping again. They whole idea is to HAVE FUN & make a cute project, right? I was pretty frustrated because I have been toying with the idea of becoming a demo & I was hoping that many people would enjoy this stamping project so much that I could count on them to attend a party. *BIG SIGH*

Good Luck with your project! I think you are on the right track! Have FUN!

I did one of these for my mom and I think for March I used a tulip stamp since that is when tulips start to bloom around there (i think!) I also used an apple stamp from Little Layers 1 for September. A beach theme for August. For June I used butterflies. HTH!

For June - "Heartfelt Thanks" -- the flower can be single or repeated over and over.
For August -- "Along the Shore -- love those seashells
Something to think about: I did one of these once with just a single picture at the top each page. Later I wished I had done small images in pastel ink all over the pages.

Boy, you guys have some great ideas so far! I really like the Heartfelt Thanks idea, but I think I'll pick a different month for that. For me, June should be something bride-y. I do have the set from Figures of Speech with the wine glasses (I think). Do you think that would look nice alternated in silver and gold?

I also like the apple idea for Sept. Which set do we have that has apples? I'd forgotten about tulips too - silly 'cuz that's my FAVORITE flower - duh!

I'm really stuck on wanting to use a St. Patrick's Day set for March, but I can't see to lay my hands on one. I've been trying for Lucky Me or Kiss Me on Ebay, but the prices are going a bit high. Does anyone have one they can sell me - cheap?

Looks like Sparkling Summer is a winner too. I'll have to see if I can borrow that one from one of my friends. I'm still not sure on the Christmas one. I do like the Christmas lights idea, but I'm always a little nervous with two-step stamping for beginners. I have a hard time lining those things up myself!

Keep those great ideas coming - they are very helpful!

I just did this class and these are the stamps I used:
January: Frosty (snowman in the lower left and snowflakes around)
Feb.: Toucan of my Love (kangaroo in corner and hearts around)
March: Express Yourself
April: Tulips
May: Petal Prints
June: Toile Blossoms
July: Confetti and Candles from Perfect Party
August: Ice cream cones from Perfect Party
September: It's Academic
October: Pumpkin from Fall Whimsy
November: Fantastic Foliage
December: Solemn Stillness (Trees at varying heights across bottom and stars around with gold embossing)

Everyone left very happy and I might have another class with people who were sorry that they didn't sign up.

Good Luck.

Great ideas! I hadn't thought about doing a birthday calendar, but may do so myself. This is will give me an excuse to use my Year Round Fun II set. And this way they'll look like they have a theme. I may even make a matching CD Calendar for 2006. I think I'll use:

Jan - Snowman, snowflake, mitten
Feb - Heart
Mar - Shamrock
Apr - Easter egg & bunny or umbrella
May - Flower (could use graduation cap too)
Jun - Wedding bells????
Jul - Firecracker & Star
Aug -Sun & Watermelon
Sep - Apple
Oct - Jack-O-Lantern & Witches Hat
Nov - Leaf & Turkey
Dec - Stocking, Ornament & Gift

I used all three Little Layers sets. I also made a coordinating card for each month.

You can see the calendars in my SCS gallery here

or if you aren't able to view the gallery, try the webshots link in my sig line. You should find them in the Non-card album.
