Default Stamps Not Sticking!

Help!! My SU clear mount stamps are not sticking to the block--I have cleaned the block, stamp is clean too. My blocks are not SU but I doubt that is the problem. What can I do?

Are you using the stickers? I know people have had trouble when using them. I don't use them and they work fine....shouldn't matter that you are using other blocks.hth

Yeah, NYstamper is right. They don't stick well with the sticker on the back. I put a little bit of Aileen's Tack It Over & Over glue on them and they now stick.

This is the one thing I HATE about their clear stamps. I love everything else. I feel that I shouldn't have to do anything to the stamps to make them cling. If they are offering the labels, then they should work perfectly if you use the labels. Yes I can spray them with tack it over and over, but I shouldn't HAVE to.

And I know all about keeping my block and stamp clean, it still doesn't give you the tackniness that it should be giving you. I love the clear stamps because of the DVD containers, the ease of use, and how great they look on my shelf! But pleeeeeeeeeeeeease work on this issue!

I use Tack N Peel on my clear blocks and that works great. I couldnt get the SU clear stamps to stick well with the stickers but the Tack N Peel solved the problem.

I think it is great that they came up with the sticker idea so you could have the image on the back, but agree that it has bugs and should be fixed. I know there arensome that have had no problem with them tho. From what I have heard you press on it for a few seconds and then it should stick. I tried one sticker on a set when I first got it and when it didn't stick in the case I took it off. All of my other unmounted stamps do not have images on them so it really doesn't matter to me. It would have been nice but not a biggie in my mind. I do save the stickers in case I can think of a way to use them.

Lori .... I'd like to share a solution that is working very well for me. On an earlier thread where this same problem was discussed, someone suggested using a thin coating of two-way glue on the SU stamp sticker. Once the glue is dry, this creates a repositionable surface on the stamp sticker. I've done this with my SU clear mount stamps and it has solved the problem. Tombow Multi or Zig Two-Way Glue are two brands I know about. Here's what I do:

I spread a tiny amount of Zig Two-Way Glue on the sticker. Very little glue is required .... just use a thin coating. I let the glue dry completely. Now my stamps cling securely to my acrylic blocks.

Thank you all for your help..glad to know I am not the only one with this problem. I have tombow multi and tack it over and over so will try that.
Thanks again!

I was a demo for years and know every trick to get them to stick. It works ok, but no matter what you do, the staying power is just not the same if you use the label stickers. I shouldn't have to use anything other than a little smack to get it to stick, they should stick as well as they do without the sticker. I shouldn't have to hold it and sing a song before it's ready to use. I love the clear stamps but this issue, not so much.

If you're in a pinch and haven't put some glue on yet, you can give them a quick lick before sticking them to your block ... gross, I know ... actually you don't really have to lick the actual stamp ... just wet your finger with some saliva and rub the stamp. It should stick fine for a few uses.

I read and have done this: before placing the label on the stamp, trim the label down a bit so that it is a bit smaller than the stamp. That way you are leaving a part of the stamp to still attach to the acrylic block. Hope this makes sense.

It is the stupid stickers that SU provides. I had so much trouble with them when I received my first clear mount sets. I read others trouble and decided to not use the stickers. No more problems. SU REALLY needs to resolve this!

Like Gail, I trim my stickers down a bit before putting them on so I get the best of both worlds. I still get the image like I want, but I also get the cling mount material right onto the blocks.

I never use the stickers either. All I do is place the sticker on the case so I know what the stamp looks like. With that in mind, there is no reason to place the sticker on the stamp.

Sounds to me like the solution would be for SU to make the stickers just a TEENSY bit smaller than the stamp so part of the stamp is actually clinging to the acrylic block - ya know like Stacey & Gail have already figured out.
