Default sticky wood

Someone wanted to buy just the rubber image and the sticker from me and not the wood. I had read that you could put a stamp in the microwave for 5-7 seconds and the rubber would come right off the wood. Well, that worked perfectly, but now I have a question. How do you get the sticky off the wood? Would sanding work? Googone doesn't. I want to try making background stamps with my left over rubber pieces, but dont' want the sticky to cover the whole block. Thanks for any ideas!!!

Sue

If goo gone or undu don't work, maybe a light sanding would help.

I had my husband sand my blocks... they will require alot of elbow grease.. but that should work.

Goo gone should work. I have unmounted hundreds of stamps and it has never failed me. I'm wondering if you're leaving it on the glue for a while to let it work. I normally put some on a papertowel and rub all over entire surface of sticky. I leave it for 2-3 minutes and then come back and rub rub rub with a papertowel. I sometimes need to do this 2-3 times to get all the sticky off. It eventually always works.
