Default Storing stamp pads

I have finally gotten most of the SU stamp pads. How ae you guys storing them? I only have 1 box for bold brights. Do you just pile them up on top of one another , maybe put them in a basket, I don't know. I don't want to spend $30 on some holder or something......any suggestions????

I have pads and spots both. My spots are in a SU boxes that hold 12 each, one coclor family. My pads are on cd holders in a cd storage rack at the back of my desk.

If you can't just grab it, it won't get used! I hate to stack things unless they are in containers and you can move them easy!

It depends on the space you want to store them in. I got these great Ikea DVD holders, that fit Stampin Up pads perfectly. Each one is $5, and holds 15 or 17 ink pads, I can't remember right off hand. The thing is, they are not freestanding, and so must be mounted to something. I have mine mounted to 2 strips of wood, which are in turn mounted to my wall. Although I have seen people mount them to each other on some type of turntable thing. Then you could have it freestanding on your desk. Let me see if I can find a link....Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Scroll down to post 6 for a pic of them mounted to the wall. Somewhere there is a pic of them monted to a turntable, but I can't find it right now.

Personally, I jest keep them in an old mandarin orange box. I stack them with the color name facing me. I can "lock" the box, so to speak, so that they don't fall out. And then, when I am stamping, I lay the box down the right way up, and I can just pull out my color without worrying about the stack falling. That way, my pads are stored properly, except when im stamping, but it hasn't seemed to effect the pads in any way!

Hope you find something to use!
I suppose a shoebox with a "locking flap" would work also!

I have mine in an old cd tower we had laying around. My sdfil cut me some small squares of pressed wood and I adhered 4 little baskets I got at big lots for .99 on the top with double sided mounting tape. I will try to post a link to it.

There are many great ideas in the stamping space gallery (thats how I got my idea) good luck in finding something that works out or you.
