Default Stupid question of the day.....

When you are using your computer to write a saying/phrase and then print it on cardstock for a card, do you cut your cardstock before you place it in your printer, or do you cut it afterward? How do you know where to line up the saying/phrase correctly??????? :?

I run a peice of printer paper thru first and print the saying on it approx. where I think I want it and then hold it up to the card stock and see if it's in the right spot. This way I don't ruin a lot of card stock. I cut it after.

Hi Felicia:

I usually use the label making section of "word" to make phrases, sayings or post cards. This is nice because I can duplicate easily and look at the printer setup to see how it comes out on my full sheet of cardstock. Don't be afraid to try different sizes of label settings for what you want; I've even made bookmarks using this as a template. There may be an easier way, but at least it works.

Thanks everyone! Hopefully my computer will be working (we had a pipe break last week and water was EVERYWHERE) and I can try this out tonight.

you can also use word and create a table. I use this when I want to "insert" a letter or invitation in a card that I've already made. This way you can duplicate the innards in the table cells.
