Default SU Basic Black Classic Ink

HELP! I was wondering if anyone could tell me a solution for using the Basic Black Classic Ink Pad and re-inker. When I use the ink pad to cover the making tape technique and when I use the re-inker in shaving cream, the color turns out to be a deep purple color instead of black. Any ideas? I would like to have a black leather look, not purple. :(

I have been trying to figure it out. I think I've come up with the masking tape (faux leather) problem. USE BLACK EMBOSSING POWDER. Dah.
That seems to work. I still don't know what the solution is about the shaving cream.

Just a quick tip I learned by accident...since the black is permanent it has a way of getting where it shouldn't be, like counter tops etc. I used finger nail polish remover and it came right off. Rebecca Goeres
