Default SU birds & blooms die cut vs x-large bird punch

Can anyone tell me if there is a big size difference between the Stampin Up birds and blooms die cut bird to the x-large bird punch bird ? If you can give me the measurements to both that would be great. Thanks, Beckaroni

Why not get both?

The flowers in the Birds & Blooms are pretty cute (I don't really care that much for the bird). (I don't have them yet, but I may just cuz I really like the flowers!)

And the bird in the punch is SO SO pretty!

Just sayin' . . . ;)

(sorry--I don't know the answer to your question as I only own the punch . . . at this time . . . )

I have the B&B dies set and I do not have the punch but the size shown in the mini is actual size. The die bird is definitely smaller.

Here is a picture from my gallery of a sample of the bird. He is on the scalloped treat box that is at the right, back row. I am at work so cant measure but I used him last weekend and he about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2" long and about 3/4 to 1" tall. He is definitely smaller than the bird punch altho the bird punch isnt very big either.

I do like the small bird in the dies and I also like the flowers in the dies too. Very cute. I like the punch too alot but probably wont get it because I only need so many birds ya know? I have the Friends 24-7 stamp set and I love the bird it in!

The punched bird measures 2" from beak to tail end. I don't have the Birds & Blooms die, but considering the size of Sizzlits 4-pack dies, the bird looks like it's no more than 1-3/4". I definitely prefer the bird from the punch, but I have to agree with JulieHRR, the flowers on the die set are just beautiful!

Default Thanks

JulieHHR, I think you convinced me to get both. I never thought about it but was thinking if they were the same size why get both but thinking now I like the flowers on the die cut too so would be worth it just to get them. I was really wondering if I could use both of the birds together on a card. I've never seen anyone use them both in the galleries so thought I'd ask the sizes. Thanks for your encouragement. ;) Thanks again, Beckaroni

"Julie, you are a bad influence"

But I don't think Julie would steer us wrong. By the way I just ordered 40.00 worth of felt squares. And I promise I am going to use them.

I tried to order the felt squares, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to put items in my cart - this is the first time I've ever had a problem with online ordering, and I've done quite a lot - how in the world do you select items?

Sandy, where are you shopping for your felt?

If you're at vintagevogue.com click on the item description in the main listing and it will take you to a new screen, and you can see to the right to add to your cart. Here's a screen cap:

Ok, we are veering off the OP, but I think I know why you had a problem figuring out how to order (because I did too)

The first set of felt squares that comes up contains stuff that is pretty much no longer available. Click on the new size (12 x 1 and that will take you to the page where you can order stuff.

Thanks Julie. This felt is so much more affordable than what I've seen elsewhere.

I wasn't wild about the shipping of almost $5, but given the amount of felt I'm getting I think I'll be surrounded by felt for a very long time.

Default birds

I was disappointed yesterday when I got my bird punch. The first thing that I thought was "why did I get this when I have the birds and blooms die set?" If I had known the bird in the punch was not that much larger, I wouldn't have ordered it. There is the convinience factor, I suppose, but I would have spent my money on something more unique to my collection, rather than getting another bird.

Default I have both

Hi Ladies! I have both of these products. I have yet to use the punch, but I think the bird is far more "trendy" in appearance than the bird from the die, which I like. Truthfully, I bought the die for the flowers and they are as awesome as mentioned above! I promise if I can get into my craft room during nap time (if there is one, don't even get me started ;)) I will do some measurements and try to get a photo or two for you!
