Question SU Demo in Canada

Hey all,

For better or worse I've been considering signing up to be an SU demonstrator, but I have some questions.

1. I read on the forum that the quarterly quota for a demonstrator is 450.00 CDN, is that still the required amount?

2. When you first sign up, does the kit your purchase count toward that quota, or is that a start up fee outside the quarterly amount?

3. What happens if you can't make a quota in a particular quarter?

Thanks so much! I LOVE this site, everyone is always so helpful with information.

Hi I'm from Nova Scotia too!

The quarterly minimums are 400.00.
The starter kit is not part of that.
If you can't make your minimum you go into pending and have one month to make up the difference plus 1/2 of the next quater.

A hostess workshop is just 200.00 to qualify for hostess benefits.

Do you have friends or family that like to stamp and scrapbook?

I do a monthly club and that keeps everything going for me.

Thanks for asking about this. I am also considering becoming a Hobby Demo (Alta). Is the $400 retail or Demo cost? My Demo is sick right now so I don't want to be a pest to her. I don't know anyone else who stamps in my area so I expect I would have to do it all myself - can a single person do it?

Oh and are you interested in growing your business or just doing it for your own personal discount?

I started off just for the discount but I am now really interested in growing my business.

Let me know if I can help you further.:-D

You buy 400.00 in merchandise and you qualify, any discount comes off of that.

I do it on my own. For now it's working as I work basically for the "fun" stuff in our lives.

The $400 is retail cost.

It's easier than you think to spend the money. LOL

With Sell abration coming up and a new mini catty as well as awesome decor elements.

I find the products sell themselves.

I would wait until Feb 1st to join as you can get an extra stamp set valued up to 56.95.

So I buy 400.00 in retail product, which is actually less with whatever discount a demonstrator receives, plus shipping.

When you say you go into pending status and have one month to make up the difference plus 1/2 of your next quarter, what happens if you don't achieve that goal. I imagine it's rare with all the great product, but is there some sort of contract that you sign that requires you to fulfill a certain number of quarters, or do you just lose your demo status?

If at some point you aren't having any success building your business is there a way to sign out of being a demo?

If you go into pending and do not make up the amount......you simply drop from SU. I think you need to wait 3 months to join up again (if you want to)

You can quit any time. You do sign a contract but you don't have a minimum of quarters to fulfill.
