Hey all, I have not contacted my demo yet, I thought I'd throw the question out here first...
I recently purchase the SU! oak leaf punch on Ebay. It has a teal bottom & the usual black upper portion. I don't have a catalog with me, so I don't know if it's retired or not. ANYWAY, when I punch the paper, the metal doesn't slice all the way through. It leaves a little piece connected & I have to "rip" it off....make sense?
Ok, Ok, I'll get to the point.
Is it current? Does anyone know if SU! will replace it?
THANKS!!!!

Probably not...
In order to return it, your demo would need the original order number. Since you got it from eBay and your demo didn't order it for you, she won't have the number. It wouldn't hurt to try, though. At the very least, they'll charge you $3.95 for shipping.
Here are a couple of things to try:
Punch through foil...it'll sharpen the edges a bit.
Punch through a fine grit of sandpaper, try a couple of times with the grit up, then the same number of times with the grit down. It'll sharpen a bit more.
Punch through several layers of wax paper to lubricate the punch.
SU will NOT replace it. You did not buy it from them, they have no obligation to you. When getting something exchanged, you have to have the original order number. Because you purchased it on eBay (buyer beware-bay) you'll have to go back to the seller. And for the record, it is no longer available through SU either.
This sounds a bit snippy. It is not against the law to buy off of ebay and she is not a bad person for doing so. I am a demo and I understand that it is free market. She didn't do a bad thing. Can't we just be nice in our replies even if we dont approve?

Thanks, I wasn't sure if it was just the way I read it.

Thanks. It's actually the metal...it looks like it wasn't formed correctly. I'll just see if my Demo will try for me.
Thanks again!!

If you have just recently gotten it I would contact the seller and tell her it was not as advertised if it does not work properly. Most good sellers are concerned about their reps and want to satisfy a customer. She may not of been aware that it did not work right.
Good Luck!

Well, there was no "snippy" intention. It was just a fast and factual answer to a question. No, you can't exchange items from SU unless you've bought it from a demo. In the words of my father "simple deal." It's not available from SU so eBay isn't a problem, no one ever said it was. I didn't say it was. I just said buyer beware when it comes to ebay, people do get ripped off all the time.
