Default SU font cds

I don't scrapbook but was thinking I could use these to write out sayings for the inside or outside of cards. Anybody use them for that ? Which volume do you like best? Do any of the fonts match certain sets better that others? Do you know which ones? Is that enough questions? TIA

I haven't used them for inside of cards yet, but my favorite cd is Vol. 2. They have some great fonts in there. Also the way they are names all the fonts are right together. With the vol. 1 they are all over the place and hard to find sometimes. My 2 cents. HTH!

I don't scrapbook at all, and I love mine. I have Vol. 2. I use it for the inside of cards, for tags, for toppers like snowman soup, etc. It has saved me a ton of money from having to buy all the word sets!

PS. It was also super easy to install on my computer!!

I was wondering...Can you resize the font on the SU fonts like you would any regular font on your computer?

Yes, you can. They do start out really small, so for big words, you have to really "super-size" them, but it works fine.
I am making placecards for Thanksgiving dinner and have to make the fonts for the names quite big, but they are beautiful!

Okay great, now I have to decide between a font CD and a stamp set.... of course I'll have to have both, but prioritizing is such a chore!

Thanks for the info everyone.

Definitely go with the stamp set first. I like SU's fonts, but the CD IMO is way to pricey for the amount of fonts they give you. You can get some really cute font CD's with a whole lot more options for a better price. Just my 2 cents though.

I have never used any kind of computer printing for any of my projects. My question is: does printing sayings etc on the inside of cards or anything else, make the item look cheaper? Sometimes I cannot find the right saying for the inside of a card so printing them would be a great solution. I guess I just figure anyone can print them off the computer, but stamping them is more personal or creative. Any thoughts would be great!! Thanks.

It's the font style that makes it look special. If you have a word program on your computer, you will have a lot of basic fonts that will give you different styles to experiment with. If you have a color printer, it's fun to try different colors.
Just try it out, using regular computer printer paper, until you find the style and size of font you want. Then you can print it on your nice cardstock.
Another thing I love to do is print on vellum. You can put it inside your card with the verse or saying, or layer it over your card so the stamped impression shows through. Be careful, though, the vellum smear if you don't let it sit and dry for a few minutes.
Good luck and let us know if you need any help!
