Do you ladies think that the SU! stamp scrubber is the best way to clean your stamps? Right now I'm using diaper wipes, but I'm thinking of purchasing the SU! stamp scrubber. I end up going through so many baby wipes and we also have a woodstove in our house and it just seems to dry out the baby wipes so quickly. Just wondering what everyone thinks. Thanks!
I love love love the stampin scrub! I didn't want to buy it bc I'd rather spend my money on stamps but I did buy mine about 5 years ago. It really is superior to any other way to clean your stamps. The combination of the wet side and the dry side really prep the stamp WITH ONE HAND for stamping again! The little bristles really clean in the fine grooves too and there is no build up. It also goes in the dishwasher when it's saturated (usually not for a long time!) The only time I use baby wipes is when I am using craft ink since it is thicker and stickier. With craft ink I do remove alot of the craft ink first with the wipes then use the stampin scrub to "polish it up" and really get the grooves.
This said, I do have a tiny complaint about the stampin scrub. I use more background stamps now and, while they do fit, I wish it was just an inch or two bigger to get a real nice scrubbing motion going.
I love my Stampin Scrub. I do use baby wipes too, but the Stampin Scrub just saves so much more time (and it cleans more thoroughly...esp. on those stamps with texture)
I went to the paint department at Walmart and got paint pads and use those. You get 2 in a pack for about $3. That way you can have a wet one and a dry one, just like the SU Scrub. I really like these.
I bought a Rubber stamp scrubber at Michael's and it fell apart after about 3 months. The little black scrubbies flaked off on my stamps. Not good!
I love my Stampin Scrub! I bought it about five years ago - it still looks brand new and I use it all the time. It is easy to take the scrub pads out of the case and rinse them off occassionally. I highly recommend it along with the stampin mist!

Bottom line: Buy it!
Just wanted to let you know...SU! has restyled their Stampin' Scrub...the new ones being sent out are actually a little wider and a little flatter, w/ embossed markings on the case indicating which side is wet and which side is dry. I still have the old ones, so I don't know for sure if the new one is more accommodating for the BG stamps...I'll have to check w/ my customers who recently purchased.
I'm also looking to buy one ~~almost bought the one at Joann, until I remembered someone here saying the "cheaper", non SU versions are just not as good!!!
I absolutely, positively, love my Stamp Scrubber. I used baby wipes for years and wouldn't go back for nothing. The SU one was lost for a few days after our recent move and the thought of using anything else just scared me. If it gets too dirty, I just toss the pads into the dishwasher and they are as good as new. I have had mine for 5+ years and don't regret a penny I spent on it. I have had friends who have bought ones from JoAnns and have been terribly disappointed.

I don't have one of the new ones yet, but it is going on my next order. I have heard nothing but good things about it, and yes it is bigger for those background stamps:razz:
I have heard that there is an ingredient in baby wipes that can damage the rubber over time, so even when I use baby wipes (craft ink!), I still use the Stampin Scrub afterward.
As far as other scrubbers, most of the ones I have seen only have the scrub pad in one side. Having a pad on both sides makes drying the stamp much easier.
I got the new "restyled" one last week and absolutely love it! It fits the background stamps plus the cleaning motion! I really like it- I was using paint pads and those are good but there is a world of difference! I say worth every penny too!!
I love my SU scrubber too...for the background stamps, I just take the insert out and scrub my stamp, then that way I can get it end to end.
I have never used anything else to clean my stamps, but I thought I heard at one time that baby wipes weren't good to use?
I stamped for years without one because I didn't think it would clean stamps any better. I've tried tons of other methods including babywipes and had settled on using a cloth diaper (because it didn't get fuzzies all over my stamps) sprayed with stamp cleaner. Then I got the scrubber and I don't plan to go back, ever. I highly reccomend it.
It also goes in the dishwasher when it's saturated (usually not for a long time!)
I clean my Stampin Scrub in the dishwasher too. Just make sure you don't send it through the drying cycle. Ask me how I know...yep, I've got warped SS pads now! It's not too bad and certainly still useable, I just have to manhandle to pads to get them back in the holder.

I love the stampin scrub! I tried other things, but the stampin scrub is superior
I tried the paint pads from Home Depot and I was so sorry! The paint pads left lots and lots of tiny fibers on my stamps, which then got in to my pads, and left fibers on my impressions. It took me weeks to clean all the tiny fibers out of the stamps and pads. If you use the paint pads, be sure to get ones that hold on to their fibers, don't make the same mistake I did.
I don't like SU's stampin scrub all that much. After much use and washings, it still leaves little black threads on my stamps! However, I do think that some type of scrub is better than the baby wipes for getting ink out of tiny spaces.

I do not think that SU stampin scrub is the best way to clean stamps. I used to use it but found that it was not very good for large stamps and once it had been used to clean a few stamps it just smooshed the dirt around onto the next stamp. I also found it did not do a good job of cleaning white pigment ink from stamps. It also left the stamps very damp ( even when I used the dry side)
Now I use an old dish towel ( I have a few that I reserve exclusively for stamping) and a bottle of stamp cleaner . I love the staz on cleaner for staz on ink and other waterproof dye inks. I use regular stamp cleaner ( any brand) for regular dye ink and pigment inks. When the dishtowel gets dirty I throw it in the washing machine.
I also find that another traditional standby- running water and a toothbrush
( and maybe some stamp cleaner) works great for crevices and other hard to clean stamps. Pigment ink especially, washes off wonderfully with water and a toothbrush!

i tried to cheap out and use the paint things.....the depth of them is different and they discolored the woods of my stamps.....one big purple mess.....i just bought a SU scrubber and it is much better....as long as you keep them clean....
I started out using the stamp cleaner sold at Michaels with the sponge tip and thought it did a good job. Then I tried the SU scrubber at a demonstration and couldn't BELIEVE how much better it cleaned!
As mwbs mentioned, you do need to keep them clean. All I do is spray them with warm water in the kitchen sink until the water runs clear then it's good to go again!
SU is my main cleaner, but I do use wipes when I'm "on the road", just because they're easier to transport.
