Default Supplies to take on vacation

Hi all. I’m going to be away for a month in one location and I’m wondering what card-making supplies I could bring with me to be a little productive and have a little fun while I’m gone. Does anyone have experience doing this? What were the core tools/supplies you brought with you? I’ll be traveling by plane so there’s that limitation.

Thanks for the great ideas that I know will be coming! 🙂

I've found kits to be the most convenient option. You could take kits you've made yourself with your own supplies or buy them. I've always bought them. All that's needed from my own stash is scissors and a bottle of glue. I even take postage stamps with me so that I can mail the cards made with the kits.

I usually stamp out a bunch of images and then my coloring supplies and assemble the cards once I get home.

I also stamp images and usually bring my colored pencils to color. I tend to layer images so If I have some images colored, I may cut the cardstock for layering and bring that along and tape those together. I also bring sentiments (happy birthday, thinking of you, thank you, etc) I have stamped and punched or die cut on scrap cardstock and my extra die cut shapes I will layer those for future use.

Thank you for those ideas. The idea of a kit made from my own supplies is intriguing. And bringing lots of images to color sounds good to me as I love to color. Now I just have to start creating all those images. I appreciate your thoughts.

While I have purchased a few kits, by far, I prefer to make my own kits. I go to 2 retreats a year and we RV as a family. I prefer the 2-sided tape as the main adhesive and apply to all pieces before leaving home. That way, the only "tool" I need is a CM all-purpose tool to "flick" the backing off. This is such an efficient method for me. For example, at the September retreat, I was able to finish over 400 A2 cards in 2-1/2 days. And it makes DH very happy that there are not more crafting things than his fishing equipment--lol!
