Splitcoaststampers.com - the world's #1 papercrafting community
You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
I know that a lot of you in the Forums truly appreciate this website. The friendships, The help with products and techniques, The gallery for inspiration...What would we do without SplitcoastStampers??
I finally took the leap and joined the Fan Club with the small donation, and now have access to even more content. I'm urging all of you to support SCS by joining. That link is on the home page at the right.
ALSO, if you shop at Amazon, PLEASE enter Amazon through the link on SCS home page (bottom right) because SCS gets some kind of money from Amazon when you make a purchase through that link.
THANK YOU SPLITCOAST FOR MAKING STAMPING MORE FUN!!
Oh, sweet harvestmoon and wavejumper!! Yay! We all should be supporting SCS, and I am so glad you are now a Fan Club member! Yay! And, yes, help support SCS at Amazon! You are a sweetheart...both of you! xoxo
I agree! I've been a fan club for quite awhile (my "start date" has re-set a few times because I was a week or two late re-upping, lol), and every time I want to go to Amazon, I come here to the home page and click through. Any time I put a link in a thread, it's through the home page link, as well. SCS is the ONLY place online that I visit regularly, and I've gained so much in so many ways that I think it's the best bargain going!
I've been a fan club member for several years and it's so inexpensive and so worth it. I was not aware of the Amazon connection but will be sure to go thru here to order from now on. Thanks!! Karen W
It really is an amazing community. It's even more so when you realize how many people are volunteering their time. The Amazon give back $$ is a small way we can say thanks to our incredible group of people who are giving of their time to keep the site working and doesn't cost a penny more to do so. Fan club membership is a bargain indeed. The quality of tutorials, the information and inspiration available through the galleries, the fun daily challenges along with annual challenges that include prizes, the buy sell trade forums, and most of all the wonderful supportive community with which to share our passion are all priceless benefits of the cyber home home away from home we call splitcoast! I asked for my first membership for a birthday gift and have considered it quite a bargain for years now.
SCS is a genuine treasure. There is everything here - everything!- and the cost to join the Fan Club is small in relation to what is available here. The community here is wonderful and such a happy spot.
I just love SCS! It's been my online home for over 12 years now. I'm not on Facebook for various reasons - THIS is my home! I've been a Fan Club Member since it first started. About the Amazon shopping - does anyone know if you can still do Amazon Smile (a charity gets a portion of your purchase) and have SCS get a portion too??

Amazon states you need to shop using a browser, not through an app, to get the donation, so I wonder if starting at a third party website would also not register with Smile? I don't know the answer, but customer service may know.
My husband and I designate a nonprofit through Amazon Smile, keeping in mind that Amazon donates $5.00 for every $1,000.00 spent. That's .5% - one-half of one percent.
Some nonprofits are getting less money from some regular donors because people figure they're already giving through Smile. But if someone generally would have donated $50.00, they'd have to purchase $10,000 worth of products above taxes, shipping and other fees, for their charity to get that same $50.00..
Hopefully the sheer numbers of people using Smile really helps, and people still give what they can separate from the program.
Amazon maintains a list of eligible charities, which apply to be included.
Exactly. Splitcoast isn't a charity, so I don't believe it qualifies. They do provide a lot of free resources, but they aren't a charitable organization. There are many wonderful charities available through Smile, though; and there are other ways to support Splitcoast too. ;)
Thanks for the info Jenny but that seems a little silly. I mean if we can have a link here...what's the difference to having it auto load every time we go?
Is it b/c they want to see the traffic from this site? I dont know anything about social.

My post was just stating that Splitcoast is not a charitable organization that can be supported via Amazon Smile. I'm not sure I understand your question about a link.

If I grasp what you're asking - and my apologies if I'm all wet - we're talking about two different programs. There's one where a a company or organization gets a small commission if you buy something on Amazon but start at the organization's site.
Then there's Amazon Smile, which is solely for charitable organizations - like the Red Cross or the Nature Conservancy. For charities to be part of that program, they have to apply. And we, the consumers, have to join on Amazon. When you join, every time you shop on Amazon, you go to smile.amazon.com instead of amazon.com. Then 1/2 of 1% of eligible sales goes to that charity.
Lydia...Help us understand! I seem to remember that SCS gets a very small payment when we enter Amazon from SCS home page and buy something. Is this the way to do it to benefit SCS?

I have no information about Smile.
At the bottom right on the home page, you'll see Amazon and "support your favorite site." If you tap or click it, you'll end up on amazon.com. Easy peasy. : )
