Default Tacky tape and my scissors

Any suggestions for cleaning off my scissors after cutting strips of the Terrifically Tacky tape with it for the beaded pens? The one blade has tape gunk and just wondering if anyone had any suggestions or ideas on how to get it off. THANKS!

I'd suggest nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol!

There is a product call UN-DU it is an adhesive remover, and is WONDERFUL for a lot of things!! Use a paper towel with the Un-Du on it to clean your scissors.

It will remove labels, stickers, tape and even will lift any self adhesive postal stamps and when it dries, the stamp is tacky again and you can use it ( if it has not been cancelled.)

WalMart, Michaels, Hobby Lobby carry it. I even keep a bottle at work.

I use Goo Be Gone....love it! I just wipe it on and wipe it off with a cotton ball.

I use our Stampin Mist to take off sticky stuff. I also have Goo-Gone, and Un-do and they work as well!

I realize it's too late now, but I have a pair of Honey Bee sissors. They're like the Cutter Bees or the paper snips SU sells, but they're teflon or somehting and they're made specifically for cutting sticky stuff. Goo come right off with no trouble at all.

Absolutely---Goo Gone works like a dream! And has a great orange scent. So much better than some chemical cleaners.

Default Sticky Stuff

Goo Gone has my vote too. Have never tried the undo type for scissors but it works great on stickers and misplaced postage stamps!!

Another vote for Goo Gone...it is amazing! It takes the residue left over from price stickers, too! I bought the tiniest bottle, and can tell that it'll last a long, long time.

I vote for Goo Gone! I love the stuff! I have the gel and it doesn't make any sort of mess of it's own! I bought a bigger bottle and it'll last me forever! ~Lorie

Once you clean with goo gone and dry off then apply some versamark to the blades - it helps for keepiing scissors clean longer

Can you believe I'm going to suggest lighter fluid when everyone else suggests Goo? They both work great!

Un-Du is basically just lighter fluid - it really does do the exact same thing. I worked for Things Remembered in high school, and we carried both picture frames and Zippo lighters and accessories. The Zippo lighter fluid took the labels off picture frames like nothing else I've ever used! I give my craft scissors, paper piercer, etc. an "Un-Du bath" periodically, and it works great.

I use another piece of sticky tape to get off what is stuck on there and then I cut through some junk paper and they are clean!
I use foam mounting tape all the time and it works pretty well for me!

I've always got my Goo Gone at Menard's or Lowe's . Can't remember if Michael's carries it. Walmart can be a little more expensive than Menard's or Lowe's so you may want to call and check the prices first.

Another vote for Goo Gone! And I also coat my scissors blades with glycerin to help with the stickies. (Glycerin is available in most drugstores. Get the liquid in little bottles, not suppositories!)
