Okay, those little metal rimmed circle tags are very popular and folks get all sorts of colors, patterns on them-my question-do you cut the patterned paper, stamped image , etc. and then just glue it on the tag or do you take out the paper that's in there(leaving an empty metal rim) and replace it with what you want??
I believe that you can do all of the above. I usually stamp a direct image on the tag or (if I want patterned paper inserted) use a craft knife to cut out the paper in the center of the tag, then cut the new piece a bit wider than the original and adhere it to the back of the metal frame.
Hope that helps. They are doing a tag challenge this week in the HOW TO USE IT forum under Weekly Challenges. I bet you could get some good ideas from items posted there.
Make your own tags and you can then use them as you please. You will need two different sized circle punches. The outer circle is punched from your large circle punch...I use silver, bronze or gold paper or lightweight cardstock, and the smaller circle from a colour to co-ordinate with your colour scheme. Stamp a small saying or picture on the small circle and adhere to your card as you desire

I have done everything you asked. I have a 1" punch so if I want patterned paper there, I can just add it on top. If I want to use my larger metal rimmed tags, I will often cut out the paper if I want to add something in---just because the punches I have are either too big or too small, but only by a taddy doo and I can't cut straight enough for circles.
