Default Talk about CTMH demoship

Just got my first order and am in love -- awesome quality and great plastic folder for each set.
Can someone explain the compensation plan for demos? I'm not sure I'm serious, but a girl needs all info!!! TFS

I'll be HAPPY to answer any questions that I can!

Whatcha wanna know?

Its about $150 sign up.
Discount is 22%
Minimums are $300 per quarter, so $100/mo will definately keep you qualified.
If you happen to drop to Jr Consultant, you will remain there until you meet the $300/quarter. Once met, you become full consultant again.
Jr Consulatant discount is 10% I believe.

Any other questions?! Please ask!!

I LOVE the goodies that CTMH offers. Can you tell?!?! lol

Girls, I bought a TON of CTMH products (including ALL the blocks, the case they go in, and about 8 stamp sets). I was hooked to begin with. I just want to caution you to USE those stamps before you go too far. Make sure that you truly LOVE them after you have used them a couple of times. I just don't want you to regret making a decision based off of a brand new purchase!

Please don't flame me...I am not anti-CTMH...I was just like these ladies and LOVED my stuff TO BEGIN WITH...the more and more I used them, the more and more I disliked the acrylic system. Just wanted to caution them to use them before making a BIG decision to become a demo.

Just a few more things to add about CTMH

You have the oppurtunity to participate in e-commerce, meaning you can opt to purchase a website and you can sell from that website.

Six times a year we have our newsletter come out and it has great ideas in it

As a consultant you have access to the consultants only website which is full of business ideas, artwork, templates and such.

Each month CTMH produces workshop plans that help you do your own gatherings (one of the great things about this is that you can buy workshop materials in bulk)

Good Luck with your decision! And if you have any questions I am just a PM away

I love the CTMH stamps I have gotten so far. Waiting for a book so I can order more......I have not found the CTMH stamps at all difficult to use and I love they way they are packaged.

I was really pleased with the product I recently got from CTMH for the first time. I really like the blocks. I have used the blocks with other acrylic stamps and they are great. I love the feel and weight of them. I haven't actually used the stamps yet tho. I plan to buy some papers and stuff to scrapbook. I'm looking forward to it!

I have another question. If you get the discount of 22% and have to purchase/sell 300 a quarter, does that mean your out of pocket obligation is actually 234 a quarter plus shipping and handling.

just curious

Just Curious,
Yes, that sounds about right!
Your out of pocket would be less than the $300/quarter because of the discount. They count retail sales as your quota. Does that make sense?

FYI,
If you sign on as a consultant in Sept. You will receive an additional card kit bonus in your consultants kit. I can email you a copy of the consultants kit if you'd like. Just let me know.

Also, our Fall/Winter Idea Book goes live for customers on Sept 1. So get your juices flowing for some REALLY wonderful new stuff to come your way!

Yes that is what it would be and I myself have absolutely no problem reaching this goal (DH has no idea - in fact CTMH really stands for Can't Tell My Husband). I especially don't have a problem with catalogs coming out every three months

Shipping is 7.95%

Do you have to get exactly what is listed in the demo kit or are you allowed to chose your sets/paper/ink?

That's too funny... I'll have to share that with my CTMH consultant, especially since sometimes I pay with a check (what my dh knows about) and cash (what he doesn't know)! :p

The kit is a set package that changes every four months. Sometimes, like in September if you sign as a new consultant you receive the special of the month a really cute card kit (it is an adorable card kit in a decorative box - I got mine last night and I can't wait to play with it)

Question

22% is this your instant income?

Or do you send all of the money in and then get it back in commission?

The 22% is instant income (if you can actually refrain from spending it) and then in addition to that, based on sales you can earn a commission overide check monthly

I know, I know... I live under a rock. I've heard of CTMH, but never seen a catalog. Do they work like SU demos and I need to purchase one? I guess I'm just curious about the stamps offered first.

Thanks,
Lisa

The reason I asked this is because TAC is so different from CTMH and SU.

We have to send in the full about of the money and then we get back 25% in Commission in a Check.

But we do get a 30% discount on our own personal orders.
But we don't Earn any Commission on this.
And it doesn't count toward our minimums either.

Thanks for explaing this to me!!

Currently we can also purchase things at a 30% discount, but it doesn't count towards sales either.

As of Sept. 4th, that option will be gone, but we can be our own hostesses of parties!!

Here are a few more things that are cool/interesting about CTMH

1) Starting in September we will have an online evite system, which will allow customers that cannot attend the party to order online and have their items direct shipped to them!!!! No need to purchase or maintain a website. This is available to ALL consultants.

2) Ship togethers... we can order supplies and have them shipped with a party.

3) Mentioned above - We can be our own hostess!

4) Awesome compensation for uplines! We recently saw a comparison on this and we have THE best compensation for leadership!! You start earning commission on your downline with sales of only $600 per month! Your personal sales commission increases at only $100 sales in a month!.

5) Online training. We already have great online training with conference calls, workshop and create and take ideas, but in September we will also have an online Training Academy where you can earn your BA, Masters or Doctorate of CTMH by taking online classes. It's a fun way to keep consultants educated and help them be a resource to their customers.

6) Bulk items - each month we can purchase bulk items that match our workshops on the go (create and take, touch and take, workshop projects) You can do the projects they feature or make up your own... but it's nice to be able to order products in bulk. It really helps keep the costs down when you plan a workshop.

I've been with CTMH for 12 years and love it! They are continually upgrading what the do for consultants.

Hope that helps!

This depends on the demo, some charge some don't. If you go to www.closetomyheart.com you can find a demo in your area by using the consultant locator

Kate, you are too funny. That is exactly my problem. I want everything in each catalog. Seriously, I go to scrapbook stores and end up buying little if anything now simply because I have fallen in love with the products that come out all the time. Hence why I became a consultant. :-D :-D

Joan, from what I understand you cannot be your own Hostess after your first workshop. Please somebody correct me if I'm wrong. I understand that SU and CTMH have very similar compensation plans. One of my best friend's sister has just been called back to the CTMH Advisory Board for a 2nd year. She really likes it. We have compared plans from when I served on the SU Advisory Board and they are very much the same. The only big difference I saw was that Hobby Demos for CTMH cannot be their own hostesses. That is one of the big bonuses for SU hobby demos as you well know because you just retired from being a hobby SU demo.

Hope that made sense.

That's going to be nice for CTMH demo's. To be able to be their own Hostess.

With TAC you can be your own hostess as well. Which is good.

I only wished that we could purchase Hostess set's before they come out in the Catalog.

But we can't!.

From what I'm noticing by reading different threads about the different companies, I'd say they are currently all very similar for their consultants. It makes it much nicer to have similar perks, that way you can pick and chose which company fits your style and need perfectly.

Starting this fall consultants will be offered online "courses" to "complete" degrees in scrapbooking. We really don't have any more details than that... but won't that be fun?! "Hunny, I can't come to bed now, I HAVE to complete this course!" LOL

Even now, your husband or daughter can be the "hostess." That's what people I know do. It's silly, really, which is why I think they changed it.

Am I understanding correctly? CTMH demos have to sell $600 each month before earning override commission off downline? What is it for SU? TAC is $300 and some people complain that is too high...

When you say (with CTMH) that "your personal sales commission increases at only $100 sales in a month" does that mean that you begin to get MORE than 22%? Does it then fluctuate each month, depending on whether you make the $100 or not?

TIA for the answers...We're awaiting our enhanced comp. plan and I find it interesting to compare! ;-)

Your commission can fluctuate. If you are a consultant, it will always be at least 22%. If you sell $100, you get 23.5% . . .all the way up to 30%. It's not a bad thing - the more you sell, the more you make on commission.

You do have to sell $600 to get downline overrides, but I've never had any trouble meeting that.

See what a wonderful place SCS is?! I didn't know our commission fluctuated! Yippeee, the more I sell, the more I make!

Getting $600 a month to earn off your downline does seem a little high. However, if you are active it really isn't all that hard to achieve. Most active consultants have at least 1 monthly group going, earning at least $100. Personal sales add up, and then throw in a couple of gatherings/parties, and you have your $600. Again, your hobbiest probably isn't going to achieve this each month, but a really active consultant will. I'm working to get a plan in action for me to achieve it monthly.
