Hi, I am room mother for my son's second grade class. I am looking for some creative ideas for teacher appreciation week coming up in May. I am trying to get started now because for one of the 5 days, the children will be giving her a 6x6 scrapbook with pictures of themselves, pictures they have drawn, and a thank you note to her. Does anyone have anymore ideas for this teacher scrapbook? Please either pm me or email me at the email listed below with your ideas.
I have some samples of teacher gifts that I made at Christmas time. I did composition notebooks, post it note frame holders, stationary, notecubes, beaded pen etc. Also, how about a paint can filled with treats, bath stuff or use Espress Yourself and fill it with coffees. Gift card holders with a Barnes & Noble or Borders card are nice. Of course there is always Baskin Robbins. What teacher doesn't love ice cream! Or how about a jiffy pop popcorn and a Blockbuster Video card. What about a polyshrink bracelet or pin? Here is a link to my gallery: KRISTYSEITHER's Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I hope this helps. Jodi
i'm a teacher and we loooove teacher appreciation week! i think that the scrapbook sounds amazing! what a great room mom you are. i agree with the previous poster...gift cards rock. hate to say it, but at least here in NC, we don't make enough to "treat ourselves" often. it's great that you are doing this for your child's teacher. she'll know she is loved!
I'm my first grader's room mom also. For Christmas I gave his teacher the album with a page that each child did,and she really loved it. We did the 8x10 though. First graders need all the room on a page that they can get! A paint can filled with bath goodies is a great idea too! I might even give her a one of my gift certificates as she is a scrapbooker, and what scrapbooker doesn't love alphabet sets? I'll have to get started on her gifts too. Thanks for the ideas!
Lisa
Thank you to everyone who replied with all your great ideas. I will be getting busy doing some of these things. For the person who asked, Teacher Appreciation week is in May. Thanks again for all the replies, I love being a part of this group.
As a teacher, the scrapbook that has meant the most to me was the one where each child wrote a note, the parents wrote a note, and included a picture of the child. I still take it out and read it 3 years latter. I have gotten ones where the children just drew pictures on const. paper, and while I still loved it and appreciated it, nothing meant more than the time the parents and children invested to write such kind and thoughful letters.
