Teachers, how do you combine your teaching craft with your crafting craft?
I just came from working in my brand-new classroom (after 23 years of grunge) and I just think it is too "bought" looking. After a summer of stamping, I am wishing I had combined my loves. Anybody have some ideas?
I guess it depends on the grade you are teaching...I teach first and to incorp. stamping I mainly into. signs and notes for my room. I stamped the sign ouside my door, the sign on a stick to show my class where to line up, note cards, pads, etc.
:???: There have got to be some elementary teachers out there who scrap, too. Do you combine these loves in your classroom? Do your bulletin boards look like great big scrappings? I just want some ideas
I teach high school special ed and I combine a bit. I also see that my color choices really are influenced by my stamping. I bought folders for all and stamped the class title and period with my collage abc. I also notice that things that I buy are greatly influenced by Mary Englebrite (sp?) and Susan Wright. Enjoy the new year! We start tomorrow!!!

I look at all of my bulletin boards as scrapbook pages. I work with all men in 6th grade and they tend to tease me - but my room is very friendly and inviting. I cover my bulletin boards with material so this year I bought white material to stamp on. I make "giveaways" for my parents for parent night (mini popcorn bags) and also have some on hand stamped thank you's for parents who volunteer for field trips and special days. I have a group of students who come in on their lunch to do crafts and always try and incorporate stamping. Even my most graphomotorly challenged students can make a beautiful project using stamps.
I teach middle school and at the end of the school year we made stamped cards to send to the troops for a field day project. Cool idea about scrapbooking your bulletin boards. I will have to do that as marching band season goes on and on and on....lol!

I teach 1st grade and I scrap, but I have realized that bulletin boards are the last thing on my list of to-dos! I thought it was the greatest part of student teaching and being a teacher....until I had my own class! I just have to spend sooooo much time doing other things....centers, lessons, conferences, etc. I do make a SMALL scrapbook at the end of each year for each student. That is another area I try to get in stamping and scrapping the classroom.
Reteired from 40 years. Found them to be great fun when teaching patterning or other math activities. Otherwise for making Valentine cards, gift bags for birthdays, Halloween etc.
