Default Teacher's Survival Kit

Does anyone have the poem to go along with the teachers survival kit? I looked everywhere on this site and can't find it anywhere. I found one on Kim's great website, but I remember reading some that were alot longer than the one she shows on here site. Please help I need to make these for Staff Appreciation.

Thank you,

Thumbs up Teachers Survival

I just found this yesterday myself when I followed a link posted in the craft fair discussion!

Teacher Survival Kit

1. Mounds: for the mounds of stuff you teach
2. Crayon: to color your day
3. Peanut: to get a little nutty
4. Band-aid: for when things get a little rough
5. Marbles: to replace those you might lose from time to time
6. Sponge: to soak up the overflow, when your brain is too full
7. Puzzle piece: without you, things wouldn't be complete
8. Life saver: for when you've had one of those days
9. Hugs and kisses: to make everything all worthwhile

Hope this is what you're looking for! :o)

That's a great one, Chris! By the way...um...what are mounds, tho? Some candy bar or something?

Here is a Teacher's Survival Kit that I have. I made the teachers at DS school a decorated paint can and put the following poem on it, then I filled the paint can with the survival items.

Ingredients:

Band-Aid: For when things get a little rough
Bath Salts: :"To take you away." You deserve a little break
Crayon: to color your day bright and cheerful
Candle: for when you are up late grading papers
Ear Plugs: when you just can't take anymore
Eraser: to remind you everyone makes mistakes and they can be erased
Hugs and Kisses: for when you need a hug
Jewel: because you are so precious
Lifesaver: For when you've had one of those days
Marbles: to replace the ones you've lost
Mint: to remind you that you are worth a "mint"
Mounds Bar: for the mounds of confidence you give your students
Paperclip: to hold it all together
Peanuts: To get a little nutty
Puzzle Piece: without you the class wouldn't be complete
Rubberband: to remind you to be flexible
Shiny Penny: to remind you, each will shine in their own special way
Sponge: To soak up the overflow, when your brain is too full
Starburst: to give you a "burst" of energy when you need it
Tissues: to wipe away the tears. . . . yours and theirs
A prayer for you to say at the start of each day

Teacher's Prayer
Spirits, Please help me,
To strengthen their voices,
bodies and minds,
To express their feelings and
control them sometimes,
To explore what's near
and venture afar,
But most important to love
who they are.

I put the poem on a bookmark and included it in the paintcan. They were a big hit. I omitted the bath salts because their were men and women. HTH

Default Avonlea

Mounds are a chocolate bar. They are a mound of coconut, covered in chocolate. Almond Joy is the same thing, but with an almond in the middle. Yummy stuff. I guess I haven't paid attention to us not having these in Canada. I used to buy them when we lived in Florida.
